Plus, it was the escape from the political dictates of The Church of England that was the motive for the Pilgrims. That's the difference.

And it became enshrined in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of The United States.

The poor Church of England, what with the
*Henry VIII-divorce-remarry-until-the-cows-come-home;
**normalizing and blessing homosexual marriages unions
***female bishops for their church
****Lesbian bishops for in their church

It HAD to happen when they left the one, true Church of Jesus, the Catholic Church. So, what's next for them? Multiple wives/husbands? marriages with pets?

I dunno.
I GUESS that some Christians, non-Catholics, that is, have FORGOTTEN:

The Teaching of Jesus on Divorce —
Matthew 19:3-12
Mark 10:2-12)

One wonders how they reconcile that or, have they fallen into the pit of what Pope Benedict called, the scourge of our time: RELATIVE MORALITY.
