I love mine too, and am so worried that I am wearing it out. A few pages have come loose, and I do not want any other bible, even though I know that is wrong.

When my first born died unexpectedly at 21 years old, I went to my Jerusalem Bible, in tears, and randomly opened it to a page, hoping for an answer.

It opened up to Job’s final answer to God. I believe God spoke to me that day, through Job.

I’ve had the same experience by opening to a verse; Lord bless you in your loss.

St Augustine, btw, reported that he had the same thing happen to him, with a bible opening to a page that answered one of his questions when he first became a Christian. The Lord has the right to communicate with us however He sees wants.

I don’t think it’s wrong to like the Catholic Jerusalem Bible? It’s wonderful, don’t put false guilt on yourself for no reason. If you are really concerned about the meaning, check it against the KJV. Bless you.
