A Church loses a tax exemption for teaching the Word, a Nursing home loses charitable status....because they worry too much about status and not enough about the blessings of God that will see them through for doing the right thing.
It is not the Godless government here, it is about the lack of faith of these organizations that prefer the government tit to the faith that will pull them thru when that precious “status” is lost.
Sadly, that “precious status” is indeed precious, because such facilities are very expensive to operate, and would have to close if they refuse to obey, anyway.
But more so, many European states insist on conformity so much that refusal to euthanize might strip a facility of any right to operate at all, no matter who pays for it. They want their legal murder so much that they do not tolerate those who do not want to murder.
So what I proposed, to create a very loud and angry protest at that part of the government that is trying to force them to murder, may be the best chance for them to follow their faith and to continue their good works.
There is a big difference between a wise sacrifice and a foolish martyrdom. A wise sacrifice is a carefully planned scheme to lose a small battle, but win a war. A foolish martyrdom is to singly charge the enemy, with expectation that you will be cut down, and accomplish nothing except your egotistical loss. It is more an expression of vanity than it is of righteousness.
