I couldn't believe it when he told me this, my jaw just dropped. H bought the whole lie, that Republicans wold let people stare, don't care for the poor, and without Democratic Social Justice (i.e. welfare/entitlements) there'd be a lot more abortion.

Never assume that your fellow parishioners or prolifers or whatever, know what you know. They don't. You have to lead them through this thing step by step.
Classical example of "faith" without "reason". They pray for an end to abortion yet vote for the candidates who promise to expand it. This defies rational thinking. I've tried to gently reason with the ones in my parish. They are died in the wool democrats. They have switched to the Saturday liturgy so as to avoid any discussion on Sunday. I have resorted to prayer that the Holy Spirit will open their minds and hearts to reality.
