The common misperception is that America isn't mentioned, therefore let us sell more books on why that might be, blah blah.

Ironically, that would certainly go a long way in explaining the "lost" in "lost tribes".

Like "this generation" being the one that is putting forth the interpretations of "this generation".

John 9

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

Same folks who had the sailor's weather forecast down pat. They could discern the face of the sky, but not the signs of the times.

Perceiving the dual faces of the sky, like knowing the duplicitous faces of the politicians, but not the times, yet they "see": peddling merchandise about end times signs and the meaning of the phrase "this generation".

Flipped over, like the seats of those who sold doves. Reminds me of *Jonah* ("dove"), who was displeased by the anti-climactic outcome.

Wasted popcorn I suppose.
