On this feast day of St. Francis of Assisi...our pets DO get blessed. It's a passive action for the pets.

From the article: Bless All Animals!
St. Francis loved all God’s creatures and followed God’s example of kindness, mercy, compassion, and love for all creation. But there is nothing loving or compassionate about factory farms and slaughterhouses, where billions of animals live miserable lives and die violent, bloody deaths. St. Francis would be appalled by the degree of suffering that we inflict on animals to indulge our acquired taste for their flesh.

=======================================

I would ASSUME that none of the Protestant denominations do this "blessing of animals."

Wrong. I believe Episcopalians and Methodists do.

I don`t know, but i would not even go to a church that would Baptize a child unless the child was old enough and knew enough to know why it was being done.

I believe God gave us a list of animals his people may eat and those his people may not eat.

Some denominations will twist the Bible around so that it looks like the unclean animals has been cleaned, therefore using that as permission to eat them.

While others ignore Gods word and say we are to just eat fruit and vegetables.

I don`t buy either one.

Some Lutheran and Episcopalian churches do.
