Interesting point. I have always had the highest regard for the Nashville Dominicans. But they sacked Sr. Jane Dominic Laurel (LINK) a couple of years ago, right? She was the nun who caused a furore by speaking at the Catholic High School in Charlotte, NC about the Catholic Truth concerning homosexuality and chastity.

Never heard of her superiors apologizing to her, defending or reinstating her --- have you?

Here's the coverage that was in Free Republic about St. Jane Dominic.

Everybody please go to the link for LifeSite News and sign the petition, anyway. You've got to do something you know. Maybe we can make this stupid, morally muddled bishop back down.

Pope Francis and Obama are kindred spirits. They both desire the fundamental transformation of two of the greatest western institutions. Francis intends nothing less than schism. He wants to make the Church so heretical that faithful Catholics will have to leave.

I did not follow that case closely. However, past experience tells me that things happening behind the scenes may have a lot to do with how these things can play out. I have also seen things work the other way, where all seems fine on the surface, but there were substantial issues going on just under the surface.

Priests are ground zero for spiritual attacks by the devil. The "other" ground zero is the religious orders, ESPECIALLY the women's religious orders, as they have been a far more visible face in the world (schools and hospitals), and provide a large majority of the contemplative religious.

Never in my life have I felt that the problems within the Church have been ubiquitous that I am actively "clinging" to my Faith, searching for shelters where I can find them for me and my family. I am only thankful that the current papacy did not begin immediately after Pope Paul VI, allowing some needed clarifications and oases for the faithful even as decay continued in other areas.
