Not so. Jesus forgave sins many times, as recorded in the Gospels, without / outside of the Sacrament of Confession.

Even within the Sacramental system, sins are also forgiven in the Sacraments of Baptism and the Anointing of the Sick.

I had always thought you to be a weak Catholic. Now you have confirmed it.

Jesus could forgive anybody of any sins in any manner and He did so. However, He instituted the Sacrament of Confession only after His Resurrection for his apostles to carry on.
