He wasn’t referring to the soul salvation of an individual, he was speaking to the United States as a nation - in other words, for our nation to have any hope of escaping God’s punishment, which as a nation we do deserve, we as a people need to truly repent of our national sins - abortion, materialistic idolatry, apathy, etc.
But soul salvations were the only thing that could bring a credible Christian view to these shores. There is nothing even to influence the unbeliever without that, and Christianity quickly turns into a list of rules hypocritically ballyhooed and impossible to keep.
To think merely “Christianized” is to once more woo failure.
Father God, Mighty God. We love You, we adore You. We repent as individuals, knowing that we are as filthy rags. Father God, we ask that the demons who control Washington be swept away, that You place there a strong angel.
Father God, we ask for a leadership of this nation that would fear You, love You, glorify You and submit to You. We petition that Your servants be installed in the White House, that as a nation, we would repent and be led to follow You.
