Sentence Issued in Canon Law Legal Case - Catholics appear hypocritical when the Church teaches about the indissolubility of marriage, but remains silent when professed Catholic spouses abandon marriage… Mary’s Advocates has been given access by an abandoned husband to a formal decree issued by his Catholic diocese which defended the husband’s marriage against marital abandonment.

It would be nice to know which diocese.It is telling that there might be concern of retribution.

Makes sense to me, but does it mean the "until death we part" pledge is not there any more?

The until death do us part has more to do with taking another spouse or adultery, other wise a husband could not go off to war or even on a long business trip and a wife could not go off to take care of a sick relative.
