The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne has issued greetings to Muslims on the occasion of the feast of Eid al-Fitr. The Very Reverend Denis Stanley, Episcopal Vicar for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations for the Melbourne Archdiocese, wrote:
The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne would like to extend its best wishes to the Muslim community in Victoria and Australia on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Feast of the Breaking of the Fast, celebrated at the end of the sacred month of Ramadan. The Holy Qur'an was first revealed in the month of Ramadan and had a special purpose:
"And We sent down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers
(Quran 17:82).
The Prophet Muhammad was also sent as an instrument of God's mercy:
"And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a mercy to the worlds." (Qur'an 21:107).
Ramadan, therefore, has been a time of reflecting on Gods mercy and preparing oneself to receive it
.
Note that Stanley doesn't write that Muslims believe that the Qur'an was revealed, or that Muhammad was sent as an instrument of God's mercy. He states these elements of Islamic belief as if they were universally accepted facts.
Does the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, then, believe that the Qur'an was revealed by God, and that Muhammad is a true prophet?

Clergy know this yet political correctness compels them to defend this false syncretism. Chrislam is more than dangerous. It is deadly! There can be no true fellowship with the religion of submission unless someone submits. Don't believe me, just ask Christians and Jews living in Islamic lands. That is, if there are any still living! Islam is an Antichrist religion from its inception. Allah, the moon god of the Nabataean tribe revealed to his prophet Mohammed that ALLAH HAS NO SON! Christians and Jews who follow the Bible, believe in YHWH, the God of the Bible that is a triune God (father, son, and spirit.) Muslims believe in a god that is a singular entity, that has no son. To believe that Allah has a son is the ultimate blasphemy in Islam and worthy of death. The Muslim declaration of faith (Shahada) states that there is no god but 'Allah', the moon god of the Nabataeans. Muslim apologists obscure the truth about Allah the moon god by continuously preach that 'Allah' is merely the Arabic translation for 'God' and that all Arabic-speaking Christians refer to 'Allah' in their prayers. Allah may be used as a name by a small group of Christians, but it is not the moon god of the Arabian desert. This is the spirit of Antichrist...
1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no * lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is * the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
He is in the wrong religion. He needs to leave the church and go join his fellow devil worshippers in Islam.
Agree fully! Allah is Satan
Who you gonna believe? Your lying eyes?
One day these people will deeply regret going down this road, as they will be without excuse standing alone before a Holy and just God.
It’s not going to be pretty.
Wondering if the leader of the muslims in Australia sent a message of best wishes and ass kissing to all Australian Christians last Christmas?
Well, isn’t that special.
Inviting individual Moslems into the church to learn about Christianity and the one true God-— good! Legitimizing Islam or failing to clearly identify it as Devil- worship -——— very very bad. Allah is Satan, just read Koran and hadiths and look at how so many of his followers behave mass- murderin g and blowing up innocent people all around the world. By their fruits Ye shall know them — any Catholic, Christian or Jewish cleric who fails to clearly point this out should step down. There’s no way Allah is acceptable to God. None whatsoever
AMEN!
wth? Did not the the Catholic church finance the crusades when the Vatican was under siege? Playing nice to the devil only gets you killed.
Father Stanley is the Parish Priest of the Parish I live in.
There are reasons I attend Mass elsewhere.
But then, they were Catholics.
(Like the real-deal Jan Sobieski - :o0 )
There is NO commonality between Christianity and Islam.
If I were you, my fine Christan friend down under, I would flee the Roman Catholic Church. From its leadership on down, it has become apostate. Pope Francis is merely the outward sign of the festering sore underneath. However, there are still God fearing people like yourself in small Bible Studies and Bible Churches outside the RCC (for now)
Ah yes the new ecumenical Vatican II religion at its finest.
I’ve already left the Anglican Church and moved to the Catholic Church because of these issues. I will leave the Catholic Church and go elsewhere if I need to. But the Roman Catholic Church as it was under Pope John Paul II is the best match I have found for what I believe, and I still have hopes it can return to that.
What has happened to my church. Bible prophecy coming to fruition everyday
Beheading, ... drowning, ... setting on fire, ... killing children, ... splashing acid, ...
Some mercy indeed!
I think if you research even further you will find that the Catholic Church pre-Vatican II is where it’s at.
This type of bad doctrine in the Roman Catholic Church has led to evil conduct (e.g. pedophile priests, homosexuality, chrislam, etc.). You know my thoughts. Find a good Bible Study with like minded folks who actually love Jesus Christ, his Word, and what He did for us on the cross. “By Grace we are saved through faith (in Jesus Christ and what he did) and not of works (Eph 2:8-10).
