Frank,
I have to take great issue with munch of what you wrote here. One of the first things you mentioned you mentioned is that God is not a respect or if persons . What does that mean? Would have been nice for a little exegesis.
Secondly if you are suggesting what I think you mean then why in Romans does Paul say “I will have compassion on whom I have compassion and show mercy on whom I sow mercy” and “shall not the potter have the right to make some pots for honorable and dishonorable use?” Or the whole idea of of God choosing...yes choosing Israel out of all the nations and peoples of the world and saying as He did in Amos that they were the only people that He had known. What did He mean by the word “known”...fore loved...because He surely knew about all the other nations. So in essence your interpretation of His not being a respect or of persons is found wanting. God doesn’t show favorites on anything “inside” of man because we are all sinners and vile but He chooses some and works thru some and yes heals some for His own purposes. As some one already said He is more concerned about our eternal healing than this temporal healing.
Thirdly you make the insulation that if one is not healed it is because they lack faith. That is totally false maybe God is using the lack of healing for His higher purpose. For example a couple in my church lost a child in infancy. That child and the witness of those parents in the NICU at the hospital had a tremendous impact on the staff and brought a person to Christ. Same thing with another couple in our town.
Below is a link to a talk Joni Erickson Tafa gave. The title is called “A Deeper Healing”. In it she relates what I mentioned above that Hod is more interested in the eternal aspects of our lives, the spiritual aspects than the physical. It is 27 min long. If you don’t want to listen to the whole thing start at min 19:30. In it she relates stories of those who tried to pray for her physical healing and what she really asked them to pray for..a change of her heart...and then she relates a story of her trip to Jerusakem and the Pool of Bethesda where she thanked God for NOT healing her and the reasons why. The whole talk is excellent.

Great essay, so full of Truth.

The question should never be “will God heal me (or my child etc.)?” The question should always be: since Christ has taken away sin, legally none of the ramifications of original sin (like disease) can remain. His Life as recounted in the Gospels proves that. Therefore, how do I ensure that Satan, being a criminal, respects my legal right to be healed?”

From that, we are led directly into realizing that we must fight, and to battle exactly as Jesus modeled for us and His disciples, using the great authority of His Name and Word against our enemies directly and personally.

God is not a respecter of persons means God loves everyone equally. In Amos 3:2 the word known goes beyond just head knowledge it refers to relationship God had a covenant with them he was closely familiar with them not just having a head knowledge of them. No, if you receive Jesus as your Lord and savior you are not a sinner. You can’t be a sinner and a child of God. The blood of Jesus makes us righteous not sinners. Yes, being born again is the most important thing, but that does not mean healing is not important to God. 3John 2 says, above all God desires you prosper and be in health. And I never said lack of healing meant a lack of faith that is what you got out of it and not what I said. I said God has done his part and now you do yours by receiving what He has provided. And the person you mentioned that was glad God did not heal her, Jesus shed his blood and had his body broken for everyones freedom from sickness and she is happy to stay sick. Jesus suffered and died to free us from the curse as stated in Galatians 3:13,14 for us to be blessed and she wants to stay in the curse instead of the blessing. Jesus came for us to have life and life more abundantly and she wants to stay sick. Acts 10:38 sickness is oppression of the devil and she would rather be oppressed of the devil than free from him. Do you think that is sound thinking. True God can work good out of misfortune, but don’t stay in the misfortune. My Bible tells me the devil kills, steals, and destroys not God. Don’t blame everything on God. Thank You
