“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Looks like it’s right in Genesis to me.

Yes, God gave ADAM that right.

Adam forfeited it when he sinned and sold the human race off.

The only entity capable of making a totally free choice about anything, free of any outside influences, is God.

So, yes, the rest of us has a will and are told to choose, but it is not totally free.

For one thing, Jesus tells us that no one can come to the Father unless God draws him. We cannot understand spiritual truths without the enlightening of the Holy Spirit.

We are not capable of doing it without outside influence.
