I don’t make up my own rules as I go either.
God st His up, told us in Scripture where they are, and expects us to follow them ourselves.
We follow them from the inward, the heart, not for force of compulsion with our eternal destiny dangled over our heads as a threat for not complying to the rules of men.
Yes indeed, it comes from within, as a result of our salvation, not the cause of it. I think OTCers tend to believe either we are saved by grace and kept by works, or, as in my case, when I was in the OTC, I thought my salvation was entirely by works, with no grace whatsoever, remembering that "grace" might have a different meaning to others.
Maybe I should have paid more attention in catechism class. 🙉🙊🙈
Here is another weird thing. When I was in the OTC, I actually believed in evolution. Don't ask me why, I have no clue why.
In high school religion class, the priest (I still remember his name) told us the Flood was a local thing, not worldwide. I asked if Mount Sinai was the mountain that the Flood got deep enough to cover. I was already getting a reputation as a trouble maker. Later, it got worse. 😊
