No he went down to the synagogue first, and talked to the Jews, then the God Fearers(Gentiles attached to the synagogue but uncircumcised), then He went out and engaged greeks in the Marketplace. That is Spiritual warfare, because the way the Devil blinds minds is by vain reasoning, philosophy and “knowledge that exalts itself against the knowledge of God”!.

I've run into a lot of anti-intellectualism among believers.

The man I know who is most susceptible to it is someone who does not see himself as a smart man. He's wonderful Christian who was saved out of a background of drugs etc, but did not do well in school and sees everyone around him as *smarter* than him.

He does have a good mind and is very sharp and has discernment. But from the comments he's made in the past, clearly does not consider his intellect as his strong point.

So I think there's an appeal to people who feel inadequate intellectually because when it becomes a matter of the heart, they feel more on equal ground with everyone else. Then they can condemn *intellectualism* and people using their minds to relate to God and then feel good about themselves, than they are just as good as everyone else.
