When a man tries to do something to earn God's favor, that is called "religion" and is usually from "the traditions of men. Fasting during Feast Days of the Lord is covered in Leviticus 23 and other places. This sounds totally man made and isn't backed by Scripture. It never made sense to me to live like the devil during Mardi Gras only to have some sort of religious ceremony afterwards.

As our dedication to God grows, we should see that non Biblical ceremonies don't bring us any closer to God and in fact drag pagan influences into the church. The original church, founded by the Apostles, looked more like Jewish Synagogue than something cloned from pagan temples. As the pagan RCC church was born in ~360 AD, they brought in their pagan worship with Babylonian roots from Rome and Greece to pollute God's church.

This is why Revelation 17-18 speaks of the whore of Babylon. She is spoken of in Revelation 2 as the church at Thyatira. Thyatira was Nimrod's daughter's name. The RCC is a child of Babylon.

Just as Easter and Christmas are pagan holidays, this smells like more of the same. If you want to honor God and follow His commands, then observing Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits, would seem to be more inline with God's desires. The New Testament releases us from the New Moons and Feast Days, but many seem to be attracted to do something. Why not do what God prescribed in Scripture?
