Will we ever see a true conservative Pope that supports capitalism, free markets, private charities, 'back to the basics' so we can recover some of Western Civilization? I hope so. Otherwise, the Church will continue to wither on the vine.

So the pope never mentioned Trumps name in his lengthy reply. expressed here in abstract; In his reply the pope used the term One, to generalize his example and began with; If actually one said and Pope Francis continued with : One does, one did, one believes : such and such i.. it was meant to be a generalized position applied to anyone who has those views when answering the questions that were presented to him .Yet the US media turned this statement : Those that only focus on building walls and not bridges are not Christian. into: Those who build walls not bridges like Trump are not Christian. Amazed they did not set up a Rubio endorsement who supports amnesty.

AGREE. Every Catholic should look past bad priests, nuns, bishops, popes and lay Catholics to the Magisterium of the Church which consists of the teachings of Ecumenical Councils, the teachings of all the bishops throughout the world with the agreement of the Pope and a couple of Ex Cathedra declarations by popes.
This current Pope’s opinion about Islam is in direct Contradiction to past popes. St. Pope Pius V commissioned the fleet that defeateded the Muslim invaders in the Battle of Lepanto and saved western civilization. Pope Innocent XI ? conferred on the leaders of Christians who defeated the Muslim hordes at the Gates of Vienna the title “Defender of the Faith”.
