An Islamic community near the North Pole has inaugurated a new mosque in Iqaluit, in the region of Nunavut, Canada, becoming the second mosque built at the North Pole after a Saudi journalist arranged for the construction of a mosque in the Canadian town of Inuvik in 2010.
The new mosque, inaugurated on Friday, will reportedly serve as a place of prayer and a community center in Iqaluit, where about 100 Muslims reside, as well as offering a place to learn about Islam. There are also plans to operate a food bank at the site.
When the idea of the mosque was first proposed in 2009 there wasnât much enthusiasm among the local Muslims. âPeople said, âA mosque is not required here, weâre a transient society, we come and go,ââ said Syed Asif, the Pakistani native who spearheaded the project.

Iqaluit (originally Frobisher Bay) is NOT the north pole. It’s at the southern end of Baffin Island.
I’m surprised the moon-worshippers lasted long enough to build a mosque. It’s REALLY cold there in the wintertime, and the only things there in summertime are bugs. Lots of bugs. So many bugs you can’t see through the mesh on your tent. I swear, if you went out without bathing in DEET, you’d have every drop of blood drained in an hour.
Did I mention the bugs?
a new form of ISIS torture: drown people in cages in freezing water, not just pool water (like their video shows)
By all means let them have it! They can eat mukluk all winter long.
Canadians are really into this ‘Islamic thing’, which is why a guy like Trump could NEVER get elected there. A few ‘events’, though, may start to change their minds a bit, as they learn there’s more to mass immigration than just yummy restaurants.
the last thing the world needs is more of the narrative that Westerners are “oppressing” “indigenous” people who are Muslim, which seems to be spread even when Muslimism isn’t the indigenous religion. In much of Africa, especially in Sudan, the animists/local-religion practitioners are a good bulwark against Muslimism.
Have you ever heard of trained seals? Huh?
The goats will need 80/20 antifreeze and block heaters.
cold is usually a good filter to keep out the (cough cough) riff-raff.
I want to see them handle Ramadan when night is about 20 minutes long.
Must be really tough there during Rama a lam a ding dong with the Midnight Sun.....
Now there will be frozen piles of poop all over the North Pole.
I suspect this North Pole thing is all about providing propaganda fodder for the muzzies back home.
‘See, Allah rules even the North Pole - fight my brothers so that the flag of Allah flies over all of the earth!’
That sort of thing.
They have been dropped off to look for disenfranchised people to recruit and to provide new material for the jihad.
Santa better watch his six.
“”among the local Muslims””
Local Muslims? Did they immigrate to the Arctic or were they converted and if so, by whom???? Is there a chance we could send them ALL there?
This is fine in winter, but the Islamic calendar is lunar-based, so slips backwards during the Solar year. What happens in high summer? It never gets dark. Starve to death and dehydrate? Or did the Omnipotent Allah not take the tilt of the earth into account? It's almost like the whole thing was written by someone who had no knowledge of the extremes of the northern/southern hemispheres.
Hopefully the Eskimos can use them for bait - above and below ice.

Typical Breitbart “click bait” headline. Happens again and again. The article simply doesn’t deliver the goods.
But I guess it doesn’t matter too much around here, because it seems distinctly non-kosher on FR to read the articles. Otherwise, this place might be full of Breitbart-deniers.
maybe all the Islams should move to the nouth pole from June to July this year so its daylight all the time during Ramadan.
