Why is it assumed he was talking about contraception and not natural family planning?Because Francis mentioned Paul VI supposedly allowing Belgian nuns in the Congo to use contraceptives.
NFP has long been recognized by the Catholic Church. There was no reason to bring it up just for the Zilka patients.
