Perhaps, if the writer did not impose his preconceived idea of eternal, never ending torture in Gehenna onto the words “perish” “second death” and “destroy both the body and soul” in Gehenna,he would not struggle so.
The first part of this article declares logic superior to love, in defiance of what Jesus called His Greatest Commandment.
Therefore, the conclusions of this logic, which dares start with the rejection of the essence of God as love, is worthless.
It reminds me of the saying, “fools rush in, where angels fear to tread.” And also, concerning those it misleads, Jesus’ warning that it would be better to tie a rock around your neck and throw yourself into the sea, than harm a hair on the head of one of His children.
God is love. Infinite, incomprehensible love. There is no darkness, no evil, and no ignorance that can defeat it. There is no one in the entire universe who, having received that love, can ultimately reject it. Somehow, someway, somewhen, all of creation, every little speck, will accept God’s love. Only the smallness of an evil mind dares reject that. God doesn’t lose. God’s love doesn’t lose. Ever.
Period.
Deal with it.
