Edmonton trustees trapped between government policy and the church, parent says

Some Edmonton parents are asking why the Catholic school district sent them a link to a Calgary bishop's controversial tirade against the province's new guidelines regarding gender identity in schools.

One parent Michelle Comeau said she believes trustees feel caught in the middle between what the government wants and what the church wants.

She thinks the district sent the letter to say, "Well we're doing what the province wants, but here's what the church wants and ... we're just caught in the middle."

Comeau, the mother of two students at Catholic schools in Edmonton, said Henry's letter was angry and homophobic and should never have been sent to parents.

"That letter is an awful letter," she said. "For me as a Catholic, that's an embarrassing letter."

It sounded very mild and academic to me, although quite firm in stating that "alliance" clubs were a political tool dedicated to promoting immorality.

Why does one imagine that one or more of Ms. Comeau's children is L, B, G, or Q?

This lady is not a Catholic in any sense of the word. The Catholic Church in the western world needs to stand firm and jettison those who like to use the Catholic title without holding to any of the Church’s principles. The Church will become much smaller at first, but also much stronger. These heretics are a cancer that has disrupted the moral compass of the Church and caused many moral Church members to seek the fellowship of Evangelical churches. The true strength of the Church is now seen in impoverished countries in Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. The same is true of the Church of England/Anglican/Episcopalian and the Prysbyterian churches. I heard a visiting African Catholic priest a few years ago that was as clear speaking and firm in the moral teaching of the Bible as any conservative Baptist. These countries are already supplying many priests to fill vacancies in Canada and the US because of the inability of the North American Church to attract seminarians. Young men may be willing to accept a life of sacrifice for a Church that teaches the truth of the Gospel, but not for one that seems more willing to fit in with ever more deviant liberal western society.

Appears that Ms Comeau' s disagreement isn't with the Bishop but with Scripture.

As we know ANY disagreement with the radical, homosexualist left is homophobic and over the top.
