What Is It? (Manna)...miracle nation pt 23

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.(Exodus16:13-16)

Between the â€˜house of bondageâ€ in Egypt and the land God promised to the seed of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob, across the Red Sea, is a harsh desert. The Exodus, i.e. the way out of bondage into life , goes through a desert of testing.

Testing and trials do not add anything to us or take anything away from us, they merely show us what is in us already, or what isnâ€™t in us, spiritually. Tests show us particularly whether or not we have faith in God, or love for God.

It is one thing to take Israel, a chosen people numbering 2 million strong, out of Egypt. It is another thing to get Egypt out of Israel.

The wilderness could have taken as little as 3 months to cross on foot. But because of the failure to pass the Divine test, it took Israel forty years plus to cross over into the promised Land.

The Red Sea itself was a test. Could the God who already redeemed Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand, save Israel when she was between Pharoahâ€™s shock troops and the Red Sea? Israel praised God, after he parted the Red Sea and drowned Pharoahâ€™s army, the song of the Sea, is recorded in Exodus 15 as an everlasting testament to it.

But before the miracle happened, Israel murmured and complained, wishing they were left alone in Egypt, rather than be exposed to all of this â€œtroubleâ€with Moses.

A few days after the celebration on the shore of the Red Sea, Israel found out that they were out of water and that the spring they found was bitter and poisoned water.Once again they murmured and complained, wishing they could return to Egypt and hating Moses. The LORD revealed to Moses a Tree, which he was instructed to cut down and cast into the bitter water, making it sweet.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that health thee. And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.(Exodus 15:24-27)

Thus through the trial, the LORD proved(exposed) the unbelief in the chosen people, but He also revealed his name, â€œI am JAHWEH Raphekaâ€ the Lord that health theeâ€.

Exodus 16 takes us further into the testing of Israel, for they ran out of bread. Would they remember the name of the LORD? Would they praise Him in faith knowing He was all that they needed? Would they give him the glory, before He solved the problem?

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.(Exodus 16:2-3)

In mercy Moses and Aaron sought the LORD, who told them He would feed them in the wilderness, by raining bread and flesh down upon them.He would give them meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning. But he would test them, for each day he would give them provision, they neednâ€™t horde it. But they must gather within the morning hours, and on his terms.

On the sixth day they were to take a double portion of provision, so that they wouldnâ€™t have to gather on Sabbath day.

The next morning the ground was covered with something mysterious. Israel woke up and asked â€œWhat is it?â€, in the Hebrew language, â€˜Mannaâ€™.

And when the Bnei Yisroel saw it, they said one to another, Mahn hu (What is it?) For they knew not mah hu (what [is] this). And Moshe said unto them, This is the lechem which Hashem hath given you to eat.(Exodus 16:15 Orthodox Jewish Bible)

The LORD fed the two millions of Israel every morning in the wilderness, with the bread from heaven.Manna sustained them physically, and became for them a test. Those who worded it, opened up their pots which they had hordes, and found them full of corruption and worms. Those who failed to prepare for the sabbath, by gathering double, went without, for manna didnâ€™t appear on the seventh day.

But Manna was a sign. Israel is a prophetic people and their experience is a message to the whole world.

*Godâ€™s believers are pilgrims, on their way out of this world- as Israel ate the passover with their coats on.

*The blood of the Lamb, a substitute for the first birth- caused God to withhold the judgment Israel, (an we all) was due.

*We must pass through a RedSea/Death/ressurection spiritually This world is a dangerous, arid (spiritual )wilderness, in which we are subjected to various tests, to manifest whether or not we believe God.

*A Piece of wood(the cross of Messiah) thrown into the bitter waters of life, can make life sweet again

*The LORD will sustain his people by sending the bread of Life from Heaven(The Messiah) that we might feed on him and be sustained by Him through the wilderness.

Pastor, manna came on the morning of the 16th Day of the Father’s 2nd month. The first Work Day of His 3rd week. (I noted before it was the ‘30’ marker in the 30/60/100 journey)

It isn’t an accident we learn Israel assembled on the 15th Day. And quail came in the evening of the 15th. That is the picture of every 15th Day Sabbath His Calendar has. Same as the 1st month and the 7th month.

The 16th Day of every one of the Father’s months commemorates the Day the Bread of Life rose from the grave to be First Fruits to those who have fallen asleep.
The 16th day, the first day of His 3rd Work Week after His 7th Day Sabbath- which is why the Word Made Flesh laid in the tomb on the 15th Day- observing the Sabbath rest, even in death.

It is also why the Son finished His Work on the 14th Day- the 6th and Final Work Day of His 2nd Week.

The 16th Day, the Day Israel receives manna from Heaven, is always the 3rd Day from when the Lamb laid down His life and takes away the sin of the world!

That pattern is in every month on the Father’s calendar. 14th day-6th work day(death), 15th-7th Day Sabbath(burial rest), 16th-1st Work Day(resurrection day and Israel’s first day of Manna)

And that pattern is not followed because of Rome..

Passover(14th), Unleaved Bread (15th), First Fruits(wave sheaf-16th), the gospel according to Scripture (that Paul would teach) is ignored today for good Friday,Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Sometimes those aren’t on the same days and sometimes not even in the same months. The answer to ‘why’is quite an eye opener..
