Moscow, January 12, Interfax - The new national security strategy of Russia contains an expanded list of national interests, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Vladimir Nazarov told reporters on Tuesday.
"The list of national interests of the Russian Federation has been expanded. It has been supplemented with the strengthening of national defense, the provision of national accord and public unity, higher competitiveness of the national economy, and the preservation of culture and traditional moral values of Russian society," Nazarov said.
President Vladimir Putin approved the Russian national security strategy on December 31, 2015. The strategy proclaims the same strategic national priorities of all government agencies in the field of national security, Nazarov said.
"The new edition of the strategy does not contain the former division of strategic national priorities into national security priorities and sustainable development priorities. This approach underlines the equal importance of strategic national priorities for the provision of Russian national security," Nazarov said.
Good for the Russians!
They know traditional culture and morality are important - they can see the effects on the West of the KGB program to undermine them.
Their abortion rate has come way, way, way, down but it is still higher than the US rate. I don’t think any society can hold the line on morals for long with it being OK to kill unborn people. With the media the way it is, I wonder if their capitulation to the gay agenda will be much quicker than ours was, or will they hold the line, or just hold it for longer? We will probably know in 20-30 years or so.

It was a point of friction with the Obama Administration, when Russia passed a law forbidding the promotion of homosexuality in June of 2013.
We had that 50 years ago too, at least in effect. My point is it took us a long time to come to where we are now, but we also didn’t have anything like mass/social media like there is now.
