Good grief, the only bibles in existence at the time were precious hand written (by Monks)virtually no one other than royalty, ultra-wealthy, and libraries could afford them.....Just how could the church have gotten them to the laity?....They did try somewhat through statues, pictures, stained glass windows and the like, but of course the revolutionists busted up most of that stuff.....sigh, read a history book please.

A Catholic history book??? Shirley you jest...

There weren't any Catholic monks around at that time because there were no Catholics...Druids, maybe...

For 300 years the disciples were copying the scriptures as fast as they could and they were being passed around the churches of the Mid-East...300 Years...That's quite a stretch of time...People were copying and others were learning to read from the scriptures...

There came a time when catholiciism became strong enough to outlaw reading of scriptures, except by their authorized readers. People were executed for sneaking and reading. I think we have a few reincarnated from that age on these threads, longing to get back to the methodology. I mean, if we will oppose their pagan rites of eating the god of their catholic religion, eating his body, soul, and divinity, well we just cannot be allowed to read the Bible without the dictated meaning from the catholic hierarchy! The very fact that we will not agree that catholic priests can bring Jesus down from the Throne in Heaven to be eaten in a wheat wafer at the will of the catholic priest, continuously sacrificing Him so they can absorb via alimentary tract the essence of their deity, well we must be stopped don'tchaknkow! Paganism must triumph! The Vatican demands it! The Papacy commands it!
