Shouldn't he be able to say God told me _______ and there be no question about it?

Then he'd be a Living Prophet®; the ONLY man on earth that god speaks to.

Right because the jews that had a priesthood and rituals predicted the rise of the one-pastor congregation and sola scriptura 1500 years after the messiah. Yokay.

Right because the jews that had a priesthood and rituals predicted the rise of the one-pope church and sola scriptura inadequa 1500 years before the messiah.

True dis.

Got a whole tote bag full of dissonance you can pull out to defend the catholic religion. If catholiciism were Christianity you would need that gunnysack.

Even if Peter did receive the kind of power and authority that y’all claim he did.

He died.

He’s dead.

And there’s no record of or instruction to anyone about passing that on.

Peter never mentioned it in his epistles and it’s not mentioned in the book of the Acts of the Apostles.

Oh, silly me. Of course. Now I know.

It’s one of those *remembered* things.

Gotcha.

That validates ANYTHING.

Big deal.

Self-proclaimed and self-assigned authority.

Nice trick for a massive power grab.

The Church teaches that Divine Revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle.

Well, then, that just very effectively blows out of the water the whole sacred tradition and *remembered later* things.

Who was it who said that if you tell the truth you don’t need to remember what you said? How true

Was the Inquisition carried out on divine revelation or papal infallibility?

Papal infallibility and speaking ex cathedra have been very effectively nuked by STA reminding us of the church's claim that "The Church teaches that Divine Revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle."

But according to everyone on this thread they are all their own individual.mediums when the HS tells each of them privately how t ok interpret scripture which.makes no sense because there whould.only be one interpretation. So why do you even need interpretive assistance from the HS if the text of the Bible is sufficient? And if that's sufficient what the point of.Bibpe study or.listening to preachers because the Bible alone is enough??

Mediums contact dead human beings.

God interacting with His creatures through the Holy Spirit is not necromancy or sorcery.

Scripture is adequate but the man without the Spirit cannot understand spiritual truths as they are spiritually discerned, which is why none of what we've been telling you about God and Scripture makes any sense to you.

No, not sinless. NO one but Jesus ever lived without sinning.

I have heard it said that the Bible is a “letter” to Christians. I believe it was Chuck Missler.

The point being that the unsaved are equipped to understand the Gospel messages for salvation, but not much more.

None the less, we have many “learned” posters here that intellectualize constantly [some are educated beyond their intelligence] to “explain” what the Bible means but end up mostly believing their traditions which lead them into darkness, and to the Catholic Mary.

Try that line on someone who doesn’t know anything about Catholicism.

He did, and quite well I might add.

Ya' gotta be careful not to do anything too well, though, lest totally impartial folks get offended.
