I didn’t say my soul has existed forever, just that my mother or my conception didn’t create it. God did.

WHEN did HE create it?

From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin has been honored with the title of 'Mother of God,' to whose protection the faithful fly in all their dangers and needs.

Huh?

WHEN??

From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin has been honored with the title of 'Mother of God,' because of her FIRST born.

Admitting to having OTHER children would lessen her special place that's been created for her.

Well; as long as the 'god' in question never pre-existed; I guess your point might have some validity; otherwise...

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus Christ referred to the First Person of the Blessed Trinity as His "Father". And the First Person of the Blessed Trinity referred to Jesus Christ as "His beloved son" at the Transfiguration.

In lieu of the above, what's your problem with Jesus Christ also having a mother?

Because not all humans, born of human parents, are sinners. Babies, mentally incapacitated people, etc, are not sinners. Your premise is flawed, therefore what follows is not logically true. It may BE true (I don’t think so), but you cannot prove it by logic.

The scripture ‘all have sinned’ does not define or limit the word ‘all’. You can only do that by inserting words into scripture that are not there. Since we know Jesus did not sin and babies and incapacitated people do not sin, we know there are exceptions to “all”. This statement would then have to be a generalization which cannot be taken literally else it is false, and nothing in the Bible can be false.

Well, definition is important in communication, as seen from this thread where Catholics are accused of equating ‘mother’ with ‘creator’ which we do not, causing an interminable argument on a subject where there is actually no disagreement.

Mediator means ‘go-between’, ‘intercessor’. Jesus’ dying for us was mediation, but praying for someone is also a form of mediation. If you believe that we should pray for others, then you believe that there can be mediators between you and God. Not rising to the level of Jesus’ mediation, but still mediation.

Jesus is the only mediator who interceded with His death and resurrection to allow our salvation. There will never be another mediation of this nature. Nobody claims Mary did this, but she does mediate by praying for us, just as we mediate when we pray for each other. She also helped with the Great Mediation, because she carried and nurtured the Body that would be given up for us.

Love,
O2

Are infants sinners?
Are the mentally incapacitated sinners?

Your one-liners have not actually addressed the issue.

It is you who have inserted words into scripture so you can try to come up with a premise that leads to your conclusion. That is not how logic works.

If you make an illogical argument against logic, you lose.

God exists outside time and is omniscient.

THAT’S how He knows what’s going to happen before it does.

That in no way means your soul existed before you were conceived.

And besides, since when are Catholics authorized to interpret Scripture themselves? They constantly criticize non-Catholic Christians for each having their own personal interpretation of Scripture, and then turn around and freely do what they condemn in others.

Jesus isn’t 1/3 of God. Jesus is all of God. The Father is all of God. The Holy Spirit is all of God.

Actually according to the Word....yes they are sinners.

The Greek word for all in Romans 3:23 is pantes. As used in this context it does mean ALL, that is everybody, has sinned.

The adjective is anarthrous, without the definite article and is plural. In these cases it is translated as meaning ALL.

Jesus would not be included in this category as He is the Creator and not created, He is eternal and has been noted in the Word to be without sin. Else He would not be the perfect sacrifice.

Are children included as sinners? The meaning of the text is clear. Yes.

Children are sinners and have inherited sin from their parents. We know this because sadly children die at early ages. Death is part of the consequence of our sin nature.

David recognized he was a sinner at birth as noted in Psalm 51:5.

This moves us to the age of accountability discussion.

I reproduce this information from gotquestions.org on this topic.

The one passage that seems to identify with this topic more than any other is 2 Samuel 12:21–23. The context of these verses is that King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, with a resulting pregnancy. The prophet Nathan was sent by the Lord to inform David that, because of his sin, the Lord would take the child in death. David responded to this by grieving and praying for the child. But once the child was taken, David’s mourning ended. David’s servants were surprised to hear this. They said to King David, “What is this thing that you have done? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept; but when the child died, you arose and ate food.” David’s response was, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who knows, the LORD may be gracious to me, that the child may live.’ But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.” David’s response indicates that those who cannot believe are safe in the Lord. David said that he could go to the child but could not bring the child back to him. Also, and just as important, David seemed to be comforted by this knowledge. In other words, David seemed to be saying that he would see his baby son (in heaven), though he could not bring him back. http://www.gotquestions.org/age-of-accountability.html

Forgot to mention how bankrupt the idea is that a heavenly intercessor btwn man and Christ. The book of Hebrews in particular details at length how “better” (mentioned 12 times in 13 chapters) the covenant and realities provided by Christ’s death is, including have a better intercessor.

And considering the degree that the Cath Mary is made by her devotees into a heavenly agent of grace rivaling Christ, to think that the Holy Spirit would utterly leave her out is ludicrous. But which testifies to the superfluous reliance Caths have for Scripture as regards their traditions, except to often make it into a servant to be abused to support them.
