A group of liberal clergy and religious leaders are calling on Texas Governor Greg Abbot to reverse his decision to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Abbott’s administration cut taxpayer funding for the abortion company after it was caught selling the body parts of aborted babies, though Planned Parenthood is fighting in court to keep taxpayers on the dole.
“The gruesome harvesting of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood will not be allowed in Texas, and the barbaric practice must be brought to an end,†Abbott said at the time.
The signers (some listed below) of the letter are affiliated with a smaller Baptist church denomination that broke away from the ardently pro-life Southern Baptist Convention, with the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Methodist Church, both of whom have advocated for abortion. And many of the signer are affiliated with the pro-abortion Universalist Church.

An open letter signed by 53 progressive clergy protested the exclusion of Planned Parenthood from Medicaid.
“United in our shared commitment to justice and religious freedom, we affirm the right of all women across Texas to make their own health care decisions,†said the letter organized by Just Texas, a project of the Texas Freedom Network. “Eliminating Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood denies women and families that freedom and leaves many of our state’s most vulnerable women without access to basic health care.†“Women have a moral and legal right to decide for themselves which health care providers they will see,†said Valda Jean Combs, an associate minister at Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston and member of the Just Texas Advisory Committee. “As faith leaders in our communities, we cannot be silent when politicians interfere with that freedom and risk leaving vulnerable women without access to the basic care they need and deserve.â€
Other signatories include Larry Bethune, senior pastor of University Baptist Church in Austin, and Amelia Fulbright, founding minister and executive director of Labyrinth Progressive Student Ministry, an ecumenical Christian community at the University of Texas, who also is on the Just Texas Advisory Committee.
The report indicates the Baptists who signed the letter were kicked out of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1998 and joined the more liberal Alliance of Baptists and American Baptist Churches, USA.

“Where we probably have an edge over other organizations, our organization has been doing research for many many years,†explains Farrell. When researchers need a specific part from the aborted fetus, Farrell says, “We bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this, so we deviate from our standard in order to do that.â€
Asked specifically if this means Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast can change abortion procedures to supply intact fetal specimens, Farrell affirms, “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.â€
The investigators ask Farrell how she will frame a contract in which they pay a higher price for higher quality fetal body parts, and she replies, “We can work it out in the context of–obviously, the procedure itself is more complicated,†suggesting that “without having you cover the procedural cost†and paying for the abortion, the higher specimen price could be framed as “additional time, cost, administrative burden.â€
Farrell finally summarizes her affiliate’s approach to fetal tissue payments: “If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. It’s all just a matter of line items.â€
Farrell also indicates to the investigators over lunch that the specimen sales from her department contribute significantly to Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast’s overall finances: “I think everyone realizes, especially because my department contributes so much to the bottom line of our organization here, you know we’re one of the largest affiliates, our Research Department is the largest in the United States. Larger than any the other affiliates’ combined.â€

Choosing to become pregnant does not give you the right to kill others. Claiming “the right to kill others” and calling it “health care decisions” is lying.

I am guessing that these are all Obama voters, and most of the people in their congregations are too. The evangelicals who stayed home rather than vote for Romney are not likely to be PP supporters.

Absolute "Religion of Peace" disinformation.
1) Islam sees a fetus as nothing but a tissue mass until the point at which they believe the soul enters the body. That's somewhere not long after the first trimester as I recall, maybe later.
2) Until the spirit has entered the body Islam has no problem whatsoever with abortion.
3) Islam approves of and in some places encourages the murder of infants born alive and deformed or found within the first few years to be mentally disabled.
For PR purposes, yes, Islam is against abortion but you have to understand their understanding of the word which is that after the spirit and body are joined, they disapprove.
They probably aren't the majority with Islam, but their influence in certain regions is substantial. They have even successfully joined forces with African Anglicans and Catholics in order to block U.N. population control programs in Africa.

When people prefer possibly killing an infant to a few days of self control per month they're under a strong diabolical delusion. That sort of thing always starts with muddy word definitions (such as, No, you shall not die the death.)
In reality, it's nothing but the same sacrifice of children to Moloch that was practiced in Carthage and for the same reason, in return for better economic prospects.
