Invalid argument. Jesus Christ addressed Jewish crowds has a whole. So did St. Peter.

It’s not an argument, it’s an explanation.

What changed is that the Church has, for right or for wrong, decided to change it’s approach from an organizational perspective. The statement doesn’t appear to preclude individual efforts though.
