Monsignor Pope Ping!
A lot of trouble to try to prove something unsupported by scripture and wrong. Mary was a sinner as much as any one of us. God has used flawed vessels mightily all the way through history. All this focus on Mary takes the focus off Christ, just as satan has wanted to do from the beginning of time.....
Precisely. I’m Catholic and I have not been able to find this claim in the Bible. Better to stick with scripture as closely as possible a not make things up. I agree.
Exactly! Catholics are blind to this.
Interesting opinion, a completely wrong opinion, and refuted many times, but interesting none the less.
Well put.
God has “found favor” with many flawed & sinful humans, using them to advance grace & salvation. To be “truly man”, Christ _had_ to be born of a sinner; the notion that Mary was “immaculate” severs His being one of us.
Too often a minor misunderstanding is not humbly acknowledged as such, but instead great theological contortions are made to deem it truth - eviscerating & denying great truths in the process. Better to acknowledge we do not have a perfect understanding, than to declare infallibility of fallen sinners.
You actually might consider actually reading the article, seeing the scripture and studying the Greek, before posting the usual canned prot response.
You might actually try reading Scripture.
Good Morning!
Just got home from mass. My parish pastor, who is also the head of my parish school , he talked to the children, the teachers, and any parishioners who were there, including I, about Mary, her parents, Jesus, and why today is so very important.
She had relations with Joseph and had other children. The scripture is plain about this. I don’t understand why folks keep harping on this.
Scripture answer:
Take a close look at today’s Gospel, about Mary being “full of grace”.
I guess I should throw out Romans 3:23 then. God made a mistake.
Did you read the title? It IS supported by Scripture.
What does “Faithful to Scripture” mean to you, then?
What does “Faithful to Scripture” mean to you, then?
What does “Faithful to Scripture” mean to you, then?
This is not true. Otherwise why would Jesus give his Mother to John as he hung on the Cross.
It’s there in Scripture!
Cover to Cover twice, plus Masters degree in Theology from a noted seminary including 2 semesters of Koine Greek taught by a Ph.D. What do you have?
