And why didn’t he simply tell the woman: “If you convert to the Catholic Faith, then you can receive”?

That has certainly been my understanding. I have been taught that the Lutherans don’t accept the innovative dogma of transsubstantiation. Neither do we. For us it is simply a Mystery we don’t and likely never will understand.
You are correct, C that we are directed not to commune with the Latins. We do this not because we doubt the validity of the sacrament but rather because we see the Eucharist as, among other things, a symbol, the perfect symbol, of unity which of course does not yet exist, as opposed to a means towards unity.
