âThe field of education reinforces racism, white supremacy, white privilege and exceptionalism upon which western civilization is builtâ
Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., Barack Obamaâs former pastor, came into the spotlight during the 2008 presidential election when he drew harsh criticism for his comments damning America and using anti-semitic language. Wright spoke on the evening of Nov. 17 at the Vanderbilt Divinity School.
In his talk titled âProphetic Faith for Social Justiceâ, Wright spoke to a crowd of 100 about the need for a new theology that can lift African Americans from the despair of exploitation, war and racism.
âThe world is controlled by power, military might, controlled by kings, and kingdoms, the elites controlling resources and crushing the poor and powerless,â Wright said. âGod sees an alternative world than a world of exploitation, war, racism, sexim, heterosexism and facism. A world not of miseducation and mass incarceration and health only for the rich and the rape of the earth.â
Wright continued by exploring the historical mistreatment that has faced the black community. Wright raised the question, do black lives ever matter?
âAfricans were victims of slavery and colonialism and they continue to be victims of the consequences of slavery and colonialism,â Wright said. âThrough sanctioned genocide, through 247 years of lethal chattel slavery in the United States, through 500 years of racist teaching, black lives never matter, just black bodies for the slave trade. Black bodies for the sugar plantations in the Caribbean, black bodies for cotton plantations in the United States, black bodies in sports, black bodies in prostitution, black bodies in the 3/5ths compromise in 1787, black bodies incarcerated for profit and political power in 2015. Never fully human, no mind, no rights.â
Wright continued his speech by criticizing racist institutions....

Are they supposed to answer no?
Get over it!
Did the almighty rev’and mention, the black plague of slavery, still present throughout Africa and the middle east, and the Balkans and USSR? Did he mention that the same black African slavers are still, the same families since the 8th century?
Tell you what — satan has made deep inroads into divinity schools, similar to his takeover of journalism schools.
The crowd needed to ask, whose lives matter?
Black, white, or yellow, your life matters when the world would miss you if you were gone. Otherwise you just take up space, wealth, and oxygen.
until and unless the black community takes steps to stop all the black youth on black youth murder and violence then NO, black lives do not matter.
Police your own hoods there stupids.
That pic is pretty graphic. I suspect the lake of fire is at least that bad, but my guess would be that it is infinitely worse than the picture. You are correct. The rev is going to experience it firsthand, but he only has himself to blame.
“through 247 years of lethal chattel slavery in the United States”
Repeat the lie often enough and it becomes the truth; less than 90 years passed between July 4, 1776 and Lee’s surrender in Virginia in 1865.
“Until and unless the black community takes steps to stop all the black youth on black youth murder and violence then NO, black lives do not matter.”....
Kind of sums it up, doesn’t it?
No kidding! Seems like all we get from theological eggheads is DEAD WORDS. Words without power. One can never accuse Scripture of this problem, as it is God-breathed.
Since each human being KNOWS God IS (see: Romans 1), therein lies the animosity, fear, denigration and avoidance of God’s Word. Doctors of Divinity (snicker) are highly used by Satan to put a polish of respect on antichrist doctrines.
