Despite having “stomach pains” at having to do it…the peaceful little town of 5,000 inhabitants who make their bread and butter from tourism and come together to put on the world-famous Passion Play of Christ will now accept 300 refugees in a vacant shopping building near the train station. Buchenwald, Dachau, youth hostels, churches have been turned over to the invading force. And now this. Nothing is sacred.
Eight hours long, Oberammergau’s Passion Play is an epic performance that still attracts audiences from around the world.
Passion Play (thanks to Faustina):
The Oberammergau Passion Play was first performed in 1634 and is the result of a vow made by the inhabitants of the village that if God spared them from the effects of the bubonic plague then sweeping the region they would perform a passion play every ten years. A man travelling back to the town for Christmas had accidentally brought the plague with him. The man died from the plague and it began spreading throughout Oberammergau. After the vow was made, not another inhabitant of the town died from the bubonic plague and all of the town members that were still suffering from the plague recovered. The play is now performed in years ending with a zero, as well as in 1934 which was the 300th anniversary and 1984 which was the 350th anniversary (though the 1940 performance was cancelled because of the intervention of the Second World War). It involves over 2000 actors, singers, instrumentalists and technicians, all residents of the village.
Oberammergau was spared the bubonic plague (ironic…they won’t escape the Muslim invasion).
Catholic ping!
I’ve been there. Sickening to think of that little town getting 300 throat cutting inbreeds there.
They are ruining Germany.
That valley is also home to some beautiful monasteries and Catholic churches. Terrible to do this to that place.
They will regret this.
I have too, it used to be a very nice place.
I didn't see it there, but saw it in Spearfish, South Dakota where it played for 70 years.
It shut down in 2008.
Possibly a sign of dwindling interest in Chrisianity.
The Muslims will kill it in Germany, as an affront to Islam. - Tom
My family has plane tickets for a vacation in that area next summer. I don’t know what to do. The plane tickets are a sunk cost.
Procreating islamos must be sterilized if they leave the dunes.
Crud. The German side of my family is from there. It will never be the same if the savages are allowed to ruin it.
Maybe you can sell them?
It’s not the muzzie’s fault — the blame is squarely on the WEst for accepting this cancer in their midst.
My wife and I were taking a bus tour through Germany in 1984 which stopped at Oberammergau. Some of the bus riders got off in order to attend the play. The rest of us rode on to Salzburg until the play was over. We had no idea that attending the play would be an option. This thread is the first time I heard that 1984 was a special year for the play.
Letting islam in is like breaking the Seventh seal.
They just rang that dinner bell.
bkmk
Don't you think??????
How long ago did you buy the tickets? Did they change the flight times or plane since you bought your ticket? If so, even if your flight time is changed by 1 minute, you can cancel and get your money back. I bought tickets to Baton Rouge for Christmas a while back, and Untied changed the arrival time, and I was able to cancel for free.
What is the deal with Hillary’s huge gaping cavern of a
mouth? - When Bill was first elected, both she and Tipper
Gore stood onstage with their hubbys with their mouths
absolutely gaping weirdly.
That depends on how the EUwieners look upon that occasion.
Let’s not be judgmental.
