[Summarized mostly in my own words since the translation from Italian was clunky - bbg]:
Besides voting on the final document, the Synod Fathers also selected members of the Synod Council, the group that governs the synods going forward. There are three members elected per continent. Archbishop Chaput received the highest number of votes overall; Cardinals Sarah and Pell also garnered high totals. Even though the Synod Fathers voted for several excellent Italian bishops, the votes were so dispersed that Bruno Forte ended up with the win.
At some point, Francis will choose three more to be added to the group below and the names will be officially announced.
[In Robert Royal's opinion, it shows "basically a two-thirds majority for traditional Catholic teachings." I come up with only about 50% re my own editorial comments to the right. And who knows how it will look after Francis adds his three picks. - bbg]
