Jesus also referenced Moses in John 5:45-47.
Exodus is attributed to Moses who recorded in Exodus 20:11, "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
There are other examples in the NT that tell us the events of Genesis are not symbolic but literal events that did indeed occur.
I hope these examples aid in the discussion.

If He cannot create the universe in six days, can He bring the dead back to life?
It does not have to be black and white for me. I continue to evolve as does my understanding and relationship and faith. I believe God's Word and that Dinasours existed. It fits neat and tidy with me.
As opposed to millions and millions of super smart people, veritable galaxies of superstar theologians over the last two thousand odd years, over so much settled science and over so much settled theology? Let's face it,how could so many people over so long a time have something so important so wrong? The world and all that's in it is simply too big too fail!
