The first Bible translations of 2 Thess 2 translated 'apostasia' as 'departure'. That was what the translators gave as the meaning of the Greek word. In the context of the passages, that is an excellent rendering. It was not until the Rheims bible that the word was translated as 'revolt'.

What verse in 2thes2?

Find the Greek word ‘apostasia’. The resource es are available ont he net. I’ll give you a link: http://biblehub.com/web/2_thessalonians/2.htm in verse three. The World English Bible is a very good English rendering from the oldest manuscripts available in our epoch.
