To me, praying a Rosary is partially, in some respects, not only spending time with Mary but praying with her, being with God with her.

Just as I agree with the Nicene-Constantinopolitan (say THAT three times fast) Creed in its Trinitarian splendor, so also I agree with Ephesus and Chalcedon that Jesus is one person in two natures so Mary is properly called “Theotokos.”

(In fact, in an analogous way, we in whom the Spirit dwells are also God bearers, one could say. )

But she is forever a creature, so while I believe the destiny of all the saved is greater than we can imagine, she can never receive divine honors.

The regal honors paid to the spouse or mother of the king are hers by courtesy, not by right. I think since we use “court” language about God, we should get to know the nuances.

Worshippers of Ashtaroth may have thought she was “Queen of Heaven” by right. We “get” that Mary, full of grace, is not cannot be queen that way.
