Really Christ called them whitewashed graves who led others astray but they were also sure they had the whole truth and were better than others
Well I have to sleep sometime!!!!
ALL sin is disobeying God.
ALL sin kills.
ALL sin has the same remedy, the blood of Jesus.
One lie will send you to hell as much as a life of debauchery.
God’s standard for entrance into heaven is perfection, as God is perfect.
One sin wrecks that and damns a soul to hell. People can rationalize all they want about how bad they think they’re not, especially when they foolishly compare themselves to other humans.
But God sees the filthiness and corruption of the sinful heart, even if the outward actions can be controlled to a degree.
You don't know the meaning of "Matt 5:9"?
The books of the Bible have different names. "Matt" means "The Gospel of St. Matthew."
The books are divided into "chapters," and the chapters are divided into "verses." Thus, "5:9" means "chapter five, verse nine."
So "Matt 5:9" means, "Gospel of St. Matthew, chapter five, verse nine."
First of all, Jesus talked about people who sin going to Hell. That’s what “mortal sin” IS—the kind of sin that causes people to go to Hell.

I read the article.
Is there a kind of sin that doesn’t send you to hell? And specifically where in the New Testament does Jesus differentiate?
Yeshua assured his disciples that the pharisees were the embodiment of evil.
They were the unbearable burden that he took to the cross to destroy.
If right and wrong is your standard, both protestants and catholics are quite wrong on some very basic principles.
That is the point of Y’shua’s declarations in Matthew 7.

...”ALL the Apostles upon whom Jesus as God with us gave this baptism of His Spirit Directly are dead now. Jesus did not specify they could pass this Divine authority on.”.....
I think people need to remember that we have God’s Written word today...and when that “goes out” it’s more powerful then any otherwise Authority.
Throughout my life I have “seen “ and “experienced” the power of His word both personally and in various and otherwise situations and events with other people. Many times left in awe of Him for that.
Were we to rely on God and KNOW His Word well...then His Spirit uses it in the most striking and amazing ways...
So when people speak about “authority” I can attest that no authority has stood above God’s when His Word is used according to His Purposes....stunningly so....
Uh...ahem...
Tap tap tap...
Excuse me . . . hello?
Pope Francis is a disgrace to all a pope should be.
Thank you for, uh, listening?
“Got one that goes off every 5 minutes?”
Hmm, I was just going to have the app track your sins so you know when you reach whatever “sin threshold” the Catholic church decides on (if they like my plan of course).
I guess once you hit that, you’ll just have to run “in the red” until you can get to the confessional.
Hey stranger!
Jesus took care of the hair splitting when He said that lust was adultery and hatred was murder.
Humans like to classify them differently, thinking there’s some credit due people for not acting on the sin, but since God sees the heart, He sees the sin anyway.
The only reason I can see why people like to think that their sin is less bad is that they somehow think that they’re then less likely to end up in hell.

>> “When are you going to pluck out your eye(s) and cut off your hand(s)?” <<
.
Proving a total lack of understanding of what he said.
.
Well, I was planning on basing it on the honor system, so you’d have to self-report your sins.
Misinterpreted it maybe...was it O.K. for Him to deny these people the opportunity to make a living....to feed their children, perhaps giving their customers whatever benefits they were offering?? Why didn't he sit them down in a counseling session and teach them whatever point He was trying to make. Unbridled anger, to me, is a weakness....did Christ have weaknesses?????
“The only reason I can see why people like to think that their sin is less bad is that they somehow think that theyre then less likely to end up in hell.”
Or that maybe God will overlook them for a while longer, like He is too busy dealing with all the “serious” sins to bother with you.
Whatever possessed you to think that Jesus had unbridled anger?
What Jesus did was premeditated.
He went out and MADE a whip and came back and drove them out.
And yes, righteous anger is not sin. Jesus didn’t sin, even in His anger and Scripture records other times when He was angry.
But He still didn’t sin in his anger.
You are a Catholic and the church teaches that leaving the church and denying her teachings is a mortal sin....if you don't believe that, why not????
Matt 5:9, Matt 5:28 ff.
Howdy.

>> Jesus talks about sins that cause people to be damned, AND Jesus talks about sins that people can commit, but which do NOT cut them off from “the kingdom of Heaven.” <<
.
He spoke of only one sin that will not be forgiven:
The sin of dismissing the calling of the Holy Spirit, by thinking that you can decide the time to come to him.
