That's not the purpose of FR and not the purpose of our Religion forum. Trashing religion is not debate.
Those who cannot live with this are welcome to post elsewhere.

Thank you Jim.
Being a practicing Catholic I am used to being Counter Cultural. On twitter I usually just ask a Fellow Christian to show me where it is in the Bible that permits a fellow Christian to mock another Christian.
Atheist that mock Catholicism I refer them to Todays date.
7-19-2015 AD ano domini Year of Our Lord.. Usually ends the confrontation.
Thank You again!

Thank You
I’m not Catholic or Mormon or anything other than someone who was born into a family with Protestant roots.
But I’ve been appalled by some of the posts that are allowed on here against certain religions. You have posted rules about nearly everything but religious posts.
You should ban ALL relgious posts since this is not a site that is—nor should it be—about praising or criticizing any religion that is not involved in terrorism or against our American ethos.
I don’t know what Jim will say, but personally I don’t have any problem telling the difference between (a) noting with disfavor liberal positions taken by the pope and the Catholic hierarchy and (b) trashing the Catholic faith and those who believe it.
I suppose if I posted a thread saying I converted from liberalism to conservatism - which I have over time - then I would be liberal bashing, correct?
How unfortunate. While I consider deception and misrepresentation deplorable, I also consider the censorship of valid criticism equally deplorable. Why not stop “bashing” liberals, or Muslims, or queers if it is “bashing” that is the bad behavior? I have made my own posts critical of the actions and words of a pope and I shudder to think that is now “Catholic bashing” and deserving of censorship. If you want to proselytize and tell me what a wonderful guy the pope is, shutdown any criticism and call it “bashing” prevention, so be it.
I would have hoped a more thoughtful explanation and policy were forthcoming. I say that as an ex-Catholic who accepts much church doctrine and little church hierarchy.
Thank you, Sir.
Thank you Jim, that will help my blood pressure immensely.
islam is a certain religion .... be careful what you wish for
Well that ain't gonna happen. God has a front row seat here. Mind your manners.
I’ve never gotten involved in any of these threads. But I’m glad to see this. Catholics and Protestants are brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s do what Jesus taught us and love one another. When we get to Heaven, I expect all of us will find out that our theology might not have been 100% correct.
Have a great day.
Thank you from my heart, dearest Jim.
Those threads were disgraceful in every sense of the word.
God bless.
Thank you very much Jim...we need to save our bashing for the ‘RATS, RINO leftists and other enemies of conservatives. There are too many trolls popping up on their own personal jihads against one thing or another that are completely uncalled for.
Ping! Thank you, Jim, from a Lutheran.
This Catholic thanks you-I seldom went to the religious threads any more, even though I was interested in them because of the anti-Catholic sentiment.
Here’s a tip:
Two disciples ran up to the Lord. If they had been dogs, they would have been wagging their tails, looking for a treat.
“Master, we saw two men casting out demons in your name, but they do not follow us, so we stopped them! (wag, wag, wag).”
You will find the Boss’s reply in Mark 9:38-42.
Go thou and do likewise.
