Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed Be Your Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Our Adoration,
For You Alone Are The One True God and Lord of All.
Teach Us To Listen, LORD
For Your Small, Still Voice.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The profundity of this little Passage in 1 Kings is awesome.

Elijah is still "under the broom tree" with depression, and is actually "Singing The Blues" to the Angel who has just ministered to him. In a rehearsed manner, he lists his complaints to the angel, and repeats the exact same phrase to God later on. This is exactly like the "12 Bar Blues" format, in which the first line is sung twice, and the third line resolves and answers the preceding two! (Leave to me, a musician, to see that! LOL!).

Musical opinions aside, Elijah is defending his own misery with the skill of a trial lawyer. This is typical of people who suffer from this awful condition, especially if, like Elijah, they possess a powerful intellect. It is as if he is laying out a case for his lack of faith.

God answers the first two lines of "Elijah's Blues" in a Small, Still Voice. He does not answer in the hurricane, nor does He answer in the fire, but instead, He answers in a gentle whisper, which demands that we be silent and listen.

When we "Sing The Blues" and map out our complaints with skill and passion, let us always remember to "be still" so we won't miss that all-important third line of resolution.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
