MESSAGE FOR THE MONTH OF RAMADAN
The Vatican ^ | 12 June 2015 | Jean-Louis Cardinal Tauran

Posted on 07/17/2015 7:38:22 PM PDT by ebb tide

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters,

1. I am pleased to send you, in the name of all the Catholics around the world and in my name as well, best wishes for a peaceful and joyful celebration of ‘Id al-Fitr. You exercise during the month of Ramadan many religious and social practices, like fasting, prayer, almsgiving, help to the poor, visits to family members and to friends.

I hope and pray that the fruits of these good deeds may enrich your life.

2. For some of you and also for others from other religious communities, the joy of the feast is shadowed by the memory of the dear ones who lost their life or goods, or suffered physically, mentally and even spiritually because of violence. Ethnic and religious communities in a number of countries of the world went through various and enormous unjust sufferings: killing of some of their members, destruction of their religious and cultural heritages, forced emigration from their homes and cities, molestation and raping of their women, enslavement of some of their members, trafficking of persons, commerce of organs, and even selling of cadavers!

3. We are all aware of the gravity of these crimes in themselves. However, what makes them even more heinous is the tentative of justifying them in the name of religion. It is a clear manifestation of instrumentalising religion for gaining power and richness.

4. Needless to say that those who have the responsibility of security and public order have also the duty to protect their people and their properties from the blind violence of the terrorists.

Besides, there is also the responsibility of those who have the task of education: families, schools, curricula, religious leaders, religious discourse, media. Violence and terrorism are first conceived in the mind of the deviated persons, thereafter perpetrated on the ground.

5. All those are involved in the education of the youth and in the various educational spaces should teach the sacred character of life and the derived dignity of every person, regardless of his or her ethnicity, religion, culture, social position and political choice. There is no life that is more precious than another one because it belongs to a specific race or religion. Therefore, no one can kill. No one can kill in the name of God; this would be a double crime: against God and the very person.

6. There cannot be any ambiguity in education. The future of a person, community and of the whole humanity cannot be built on such ambiguity or apparent truth. Christians and Muslims, according to their respective religious tradition, look at God and relate with Him as being the Truth. Our life and behaviour as believers should reflect such conviction.

7. According to Saint John Paul II, Christians and Muslims have “the privilege of prayer” (Address to Muslim Religious Leaders, Kaduna, Nigeria, 14 February 1982). Our prayer is much needed: for justice, for peace and security in the world; for those who have deviated from the true path of life and commit violence in the name of religion, so as to return to God and change life; for the poor and the sick.

8. Our feasts, among others, nourish in us hope for the present and the future. It is with hope that we look at the future of humanity, especially when we do our best to make our legitimate dreams become a reality.

9. With Pope Francis, we wish you that the fruits of Ramadan and the joy of ‘Id al-Fitr may bring about peace and prosperity, enhancing your human and spiritual growth.

Happy Feast to you all!

From the Vatican, 12 June 2015

Jean-Louis Cardinal Tauran President

Father Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, M.C.C.I. Secretary

First of all, they are not our brothers and sisters until they are saved out of Islam.

Anyone notice that the flag of Iran has a camel toe on it?

Yes, in that sense, this is not unique. It’s just that, with this guy, Catholics are starting to notice it and finally scratch their heads. Perhaps if the Vatican actually acted like the Catholic Church rather than promoted non-Catholic teachings towards Islam, these savages would never have gotten to the point they have today.

Not unique? Since 1978, we've had 9-11, countless murders of Christians by the Islamists, terrorist attacks at home and abroad and you think the same message to these savages today is not unique in it's shear stupidity?

unique: being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else:

The Council for Inter-religious dialogue has been issuing these statements since 1978 (at least).

For example, the statement issued in 2001 (after 9/11, btw) stated:

1. I am writing to you again this year on the occasion of the end of Ramadan to assure you that I share the joy you must feel at having completed the fast and come to the celebration of 'Id al-Fitr. I address this message to you as a sign of esteem and friendship on the part of the Catholic Church. Many Muslims write to us in reply to this annual message, to express their gratitude, but also to share their point of view on the reflections it proposes. We are sure that the positive reactions are not limited to those sent to us, but could also be found in many local situations where Muslims and Christians live and work together.

In addressing you at this moment, the end of the period in which you have been fulfilling a specific religious duty in order to come closer to the Most High, I cannot forget, in the first place, the dramatic events which our world is experiencing, events which affect in a particular way the hearts of believers belonging to the monotheistic religions. The faithful adorers of the One God are called to be in the world the artisans of a civilisation founded on the perennial values of peace and justice, of unity and love, of dialogue and freedom, of cooperation and fraternity, between persons and among peoples. May expressions of solidarity and fraternity among believers and all people of good will lead society along new paths, in full respect for human values and in the promotion of these values.

In other words, this is something that the Post Vatican II Roman Curia has done every year. It is NOT an innovation by Bergoglio. It is something that has been done under the auspices of Montini, Wojtyła, and Ratzinger before him.

Disgraceful. And it won’t save the Christians in the ME.

Was not the OT Feasts for the Jewish people only?

This is why you go to Scripture for a plumb line. Start there FIRST.

If you then wind up at the Vatican’s claptrap above you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.

I didn’t I needed the sarcasm symbol, but I guess I did. It was sarcastic, Paul tells us not to be concerned with new moons and sabbaths, they were types and shadows done away with at the Cross.

They are His Feasts. They are His appointed times that He taught to Israel. By having them ‘live it’, they were memorials of the past -but also shadows to come of when the Messiah came..

It is why 30/60/100 fold in the parable of the sower is still a mystery to most..

They don’t see those (30/60/100) having any real time to Israel and their own journey but those are plucked from the Exodus, with study.

30 days after being delivered from Egypt- they were fed manna from heaven.

After 60 days,( not 50 like judaism and christianity teach) they heard His law thundered from Sinai.

After 100 days, Moses ( after 40 days on the mount) came down with the Law written on tables by His Finger. Which is exactly the day of the Feast of Weeks in Exodus that Aaron declared. (3000 men killed that day)

In the New Testament,it is the day that the Holy Spirit came down and 3000 souls were saved in acts.

30/60/100

All based on what He had Israel do in the wilderness before they reached the promised land.

Judaism and Christianity can’t understand that as they are currently constructed.
Especially since Judaism and Christianity celebrated their Feast of Weeks 50 days before Israel did in the wilderness and the called out assembly did in Acts 2..

It is a blindness that would shut people out of a deeper meaning of what 30fold in His Kingdom represents.
What 60fold represents
And what 100fold represents.

And why 30fold would be considered ‘least’ in His Kingdom..(hint it is about their lack of His Commandments that were delivered at 60 by ear and 100 writtablets the tablet)

If Christianity understood those New Moons,Sabbaths and Feasts point to the very life of the King and His Kingdom, they would understand how Satan has worked to delegitimze them as being ‘jewish’ or unimportant.

And why changing times and laws in daniel 7 correlates to Revelation 13 and 14 and the battle over ‘worship’..

I could say the Savior was born on a specific new moon , according to hints/clues in scripture and that would mean zero to most.

if one understood what He taught Israel, a pattern would unfold that would allow Christians to see their Savior in His appointed times- literally. Just like Israel is supposed to..

Jews think those appointed times are about them. Nope.. Only partly true. Those appointed times are all about Him and no wonder the enemy doesn’t want that known.

Colossians 2:16-17 deals with how we are to worry about new moons and sabbaths very well.

The true Israel of God is Jesus Christ and those of us in Him ( the Church ) . Jesus took the kingdom from national Israel for unbelief and gave it to spiritual Israel, based on belief. Spiritual Israel has no need for types and shadows, since they pointed to Christ. Once He came, they were done away with.

See post 33..

When I read 45:17 which is quite a parallel with Paul’s letter, I saw a different way to interpret that verse you summarize.
And since no more offerings are needed as He did finish them all, it makes it much clearer.

Tough to say Paul would have taught them to disobey one of the ten commandments. But some do think those have been done away with too or they were just for Israel.

The scripture records the Savior mentioning the position of those who do and teach others not to do the commandments- where their place will be in His Kingdom- 30 fold- least in the Kingdom.

And puzzle pieces start to come together.. What makes a 30fold least in His Kingdom-? Look to Israel and their journey in the wilderness and you have the answer

Was not the word “Petecost” mean in Greek for “50” as in 50 days after Easter?

There is a count to 50.. It is after the 7th Sabbath in Leviticus 23..

There are two counts.. One to 7 Sabbaths (which when New Moon Days are included- see Ezekiel 46 will have MORE than 50 days after 7 Sabbaths - something that will never happen with Rome’s calendar because they ignore new moon days)

Then a count (number) of 50 from the day After the 7th Sabbath.. That makes it at least 99 days plus new moon days bring it over 100 days.

Rome’s calendar ignores one of His Appointed Times He taught Israel (new moon day- simply 1st day of each month),they have missed the connection of Israel and the chag/Feast Aaron declared well after 50 days at Sinai( Moses had to go up the mount for 40)

It is a misunderstanding of His calendar, His Appointed Times that blinds people to so much..

And because of times and laws changing, Judaism and Christianity are blind leading the blind .
