-- Perhaps not, but knowing about them might have made a difference if we had taken them to heart.
I think that's part of why the warnings have been given.
--

Yes, I do agree that the warnings are meant to change hearts, and in that regard there is no doubt they have some measure of success. My point was that prophesy is prophesy, and the dire events prophesied will come.

Agreed. No changing what has been written. It all must be fulfilled.

It's just like you said, the warnings are a helpful gift for self-determining which team you'll wind up on after the final draft.

As a hopeful final round draft pick, I've been paying a LOT more attention to the warnings these days.

"Write: before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of my Mercy"

I have been trying to keep to prayer over what's happening in the world and not give in to anger and despair. It's all I can do to resist wanting those responsible for these attacks on our nation to be struck down-But when I began to pray and turn to the One who can heal us (instead of letting myself go into dark places), the strongest thought that came to me was "Mercy-Pray for My Mercy for everyone."

(I can tell you that this thought did not come from me - I was thinking about lightning and punishments for those directly attacking Christianity and tearing down our traditions -causing massive confusion the world over.)

The more I prayed the more the concept of mercy occurred to me. It wasn't easy at first but this is what I will be praying for from now on-along with the prayers for clergy and other intentions asked for by Our Lady of Good Success.

As much as we might complain about all the confusion, scandals, and general madness in the world,-It must be even worse for priests and nuns who have dedicated their whole lives to our Lord- they are under constant attack-I hope they know that they do matter-Even if it's just people who see them in everyday activities out in public-like shopping at grocery store exc- They are a sign of God's presence in our world. God Bless them.

A final thought- I don't believe it is a coincidence that Mercy is what is needed and that -Thanks be to God for the simple , yet profound, Grace given to the pious families of the victims in the S.C. shootings-That let them be able to pray for God to have His Mercy on the soul of the murderer-It is not coincidence that this happened and that Mercy is what is called for now for all of us.

One thing that catches my attention is how the accounts I've read from Fatima, Garabandal, Akita, the messages in True Life In God and now this, all are spoken/written in the same voice, the same persona saying more or less the same things across time, geography and culture.

What an astute observation!! Indeed, Mary's role is to draw people to her Son. Like a true mother, she cautions, admonishes and calls us to prayer and repentance. There have been many purported marian apparitions but not all have been approved. In fact, there are Nine Major Approved Apparitions.

I'm a non-denominational, sinful, struggling Christian and perpetual prodigal son and accounts/prophecies like this reach me, and make the supernatural real for me, in ways the usual Protestant vs Catholic battles never do.

You are not the only one. Your comment reminded me of a story told by Doug Gonzales, a former Nazarene minister. Not trying to suggest anything but thought you might enjoy Doug's story. He is quite amusing but, as a protestant, you can relate to his 'supernatural' encounter ; - ) I'm sure this will put a smile on your face. Enjoy!

I have felt the same way regarding letting myself go into those dark places. I have been subscribing to the Divine Mercy Daily message for about 6 months, it has really helped me see how much Our Lord loves us and how hurt He is by mankind’s ingratitude and indifference.

By reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet we can help save souls.

Thanks for the links and info and about Doug Gonzales, no suggestions taken. :)

Though, to be honest? The things I've read about the importance of the Rosary, now, as always, but especially so in the end, as well as the importance of being cleaned up enough to participate in the Eucharist and receive Communion...well, I should probably head down the road to that new Catholic church and see for myself.

I keep finding reasons not to and reasons to avoid organized religion altogether, so I'm stuck at just doing research for now. The world keeps getting more insane by the day, so that keeps me busy.

None the less, what I've found doing my research has given me the belief that the Eucharist and Communion are as the Church believes and teaches.

And has also given me belief beyond that and then some about the supernatural compared to what most Protestants seem to accept and believe.

I got into saying The Divine Mercy prayers after my mother died. I say it every day at various times . In the 2000's I started having accurate dreams that became true. They were personal . All died. People I knew friends or family. One was a friend of mine's daughter. I saw the channel 12 long Island newscast of her death being reported in my dream before it happen then saw the same when it was reported several months later. It was the same town , same anchor , same girl and same way she died. She died from a drive by shooting. It happens after I say my Divine Mercy prayers then go to sleep usually. I only get a rare few a year.

I had two about the nation. One has Obama in a grass field all alone as he gets out of the limo with a handful of secret service. He looks up at an invading army parachute men coming down out of the sky. I have it on my profile near the bottom. Remember the Divine Mercy prayers are for the last moments of a persons life for total forgiveness. I am also thinking for our nation of people's souls since we pray for many in the pray chaplet words. I do believe It is for the end times by Christ. But I believe USA is going to be knocked out as a super power for the more exact events of the book of Revelation.

Thank you for sharing your situation; I fully appreciate the consternation. Though I am Roman Catholic, I too have stumbled with similar issues. The Latin (RC) Church is very large which, in and of itself, can be quite intimidating. 11 years ago, fraught with despair over constant changes in my parish, I decided to turn it over to our Lord. I sent up a sincere prayer to be guided to "a holy priest, a reverent liturgy and a community in need of whatever gifts I might be able to share". Later that day, I compiled a list of RC parishes within a certain radius of home with the intention of visiting each one until I found the "right"one. A freeper friend reminded me of the Eastern Catholic Churches, suggesting I do some research and add these to my list. There were 2 - Maronite and Ukrainian. Each Sunday, I pulled out my list and attended mass at a different parish.

Week 4, the Maronite Catholic Church was next on the list. I knew nothing about their liturgy but my freeper friend, who had attended several of their masses, assured me that it was ancient and steeped in great reverence. It was in this very small parish that our Lord let me know that I was home. I left the church that day with a sense of peace that lasted the entire week. For the first time in my life, the words "Peace be with you." took on true significance. The small community welcomed me with open arms. Here, I discovered "gifts and abilities" I never knew I had. Because of its small community size (about 60 families), their needs were great. Looking back, I can now understand why our Lord called me here and am truly humbled by His response. I have been asked to serve on the Parish Council, develop a Religious Education program, write 2 grants (both were awarded), serve on various committees and now do the weekly bulletin. The blessings have flowed from God - one of those grants was for the restoration of stained glass windows in a 160 y/o former Methodist/Episcopal Church that was to become our future home. The odds of being awarded a matching state grant are astronomical. Never having written a grant, I entrusted it to Christ: "If this be your will, please help us". More than 350 applications were submitted and only 15 grants were awarded. As it turned out, ours was the last state grant awarded to restore stained glass windows with a religious theme; the state dropped it the following year.

This is not to suggest that your path is the same as mine but I would encourage you to entrust to Christ your prayer for him to guide and assist you on your journey. He will not fail you. I will add you to my daily prayer list. May our Lord bless you on your journey!

Hi, GBA! Nice to see you in forum!
Many prophecies go along the same lines. I think that's why God chooses whom he does. Often the visionaries were unaware not only of other prophecies, but of exactly what it was they were hearing of, as St. Bernadette being told of the Immaculate Conception, when the people had not yet been informed of the dogma. God wants so badly for us to know, love, and serve Him, and Our Lady is so often His instrument. He trusts her with us just as He did with His Only-Begotten Son!

God bless you!

That is fascinating, and something new to me, although the messages are so evident in our times. Thank you and God bless you!

Thank you for sharing. “...The Eucharist and Communion are as the Church believes and teaches...”

Just a suggestion: I have found a 24/7 Adoration Chapel for prayer that helps me a lot. If you have one near you, praying there is an ideal place for peace, discernment and strength to deal with the world’s darkness that as you state correctly is getting more insane by the day.

I will add you to my rosary - I have prayed during my time in the Adoration Chapel for all Freepers to make their way to the Truth and I am reasonably certain that other Freepers are doing the same.

Godspeed for the journey.

Wow. Reminds me of St. John Bosco, he also had dreams which came to pass. If I wake up in the night I try to say the chaplet or a rosary.

Thank you for sharing your encouraging story! I find comfort in both how your persistence was rewarded and as another example of how God works.

I was going to do something similar when I first moved here using the yellow pages, but, as is often the case, I got offtrack and distracted by life and never finished what I started.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your vantage point, I had a stormy 2 or 3 year stretch recently that radically rocked my world again and again, reminding me of both the bigger picture and my temporary status in the here and now.

Quite a prolonged attitude adjustment, but apparently that's what it takes for the ultra hard-headed like me.

Now, with a newly improved and re-calibrated attitude, I can add your story to those that play in my head during my inner prodigal son arguments.

Thanks for the gift!

Thanks, you, too. Good points, I agree.

After a point doing my research, the truth of what you posted became clear, then it became obvious.

I guess I'm one of the gullible and I'm okay with that. I am finding the Truth I set out to find.

Thanks for your post and suggestion!

Funny thing about the current insanity is that is so unsettling, but reassuring at the same time.

It's a dimension of that "peace that defies all understanding" thing I didn't anticipate, but greatly appreciate in our day to day slide down to the consequences.

I don't think you're being gullible at all- Jesus said:

Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves. Matthew 10:16.

You're opening yourself to God's Grace and seeking the Truth- that's a beautiful thing. It's a bumpy road, but stay on it and pray for guidance, and God won't let you down, even in times like these!

God bless you, GBA, and don't be a stranger! You're smart enough to use your ears, and have good things to contribute when you use your voice!

"Wow. Reminds me of St. John Bosco, he also had dreams which came to pass. If I wake up in the night I try to say the chaplet or a rosary."

Good point! Don Bosco dreamt one night about a Pope leading a ship, the faithful, through turbulent waters. The Holy Father guided the ship between two pillars, very close together, and was able to anchor this ship to the pillars.

On top of one pillar was Our Lady; atop the other, The Eucharist. It gives me the chills- in a good way- just to think about it.

Jesus in the Eucharist, and Mary with the Rosary are our hope, both now and in the times to come.

IMHO, that Pope was JPII. This may sound crazy, but with Cardinal Ratzinger being one of his right-hand men, and a profound spiritual thinker in his own right, my subconscious usually thinks of theirs almost as one Papacy. The transition was so seamless; Benedict so humble, and then stepping down, as if somehow he'd finished what JP wasn't able to, but intended- and he'd be close enough to know.

I miss him. 💖

Someone, earlier on this thread, mentioned our Lord's message of Divine Mercy, given to St. Faustina. You can read more about the History of the Message and Devotion to Divine Mercy

In 1931, our Lord appeared to St. Faustina in a vision. She saw Jesus clothed in a white garment with His right hand raised in blessing. His left hand was touching His garment in the area of the Heart, from where two large rays came forth, one red and the other pale. She gazed intently at the Lord in silence, her soul filled with awe, but also with great joy. Jesus said to her:

Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory (Diary, 47, 48).

Trust in Jesus is the essence of the message of mercy. In repeated revelations to St. Faustina, Our Divine Savior makes it clear that the fountain is His Heart, the water is His mercy, and the vessel is trust.

I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust (Diary, 1520). On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls — no one have I excluded! (1182). I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: "Jesus, I trust in You" (327). The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is — trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive (1578).

I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls (1074).

How simple yet so timely. The Divine Mercy and the Second Coming

So, dear friend, as society crumbles around us, you have a place to turn - "Jesus, I trust in you". He will not fail you.
