We are never told in Scripture to pray for our nation.

Then love your neighbor and pray for him. Who is your neighbor? Jesus answered that one.

Matthew 5:44
But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,

Luke 6:28
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

1 Timothy 2:1-3
First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior.

Jeremiah 29:7
Seek the peace and prosperity of the land (city-state)to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.

So: for enemies, for those who persecute, curse, and mistreat you, for kings and those in authority.

That, plus you "neighbors", should just about cover the nation.
