Stop prayer, and your work stops soon after, or takes a demonic bent. Think about that.
Luke 6:28
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
1 Timothy 2:1-3
First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior.
Jeremiah 29:7
Seek the peace and prosperity of the land (city-state)to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
So: for enemies, for those who persecute, curse, and mistreat you, for kings and those in authority.
That, plus you "neighbors", should just about cover the nation.
Indeed, there is a scriptural mandate to love our enemies and pray for them. But there is a special love, of a type completely different in characteristic, that we are to direct toward our brothers in Christ. It is the difference of that between night and day. It is what prompted Christ to spurn the Syrophonecian woman beseeching his help on behalf of her sick daughter. She had to agree in her heart with his indictment that she was outside of the family of God, and was, in His own words, a “dog” before he showed mercy to her. At that moment, she entered the family, and into the new love that bretheren share.

Remember that the sodomites and other blasphemers of today are unknowingly flashing the sign of God’s covenant with Noah on the White House, Niagra Falls, and other places. They do not even realize the irony of the symbol they have chosen as it refers to a time when God destroyed the earth because of man’s wickedness. I hate, loathe and despise the pictures I’ve seen of this gay symbol degrading everything, but then I remember what it really symbolizes that they don’t understand and think of how God laughs at them when they shake their fist in his face. (Psalm 2)
Genesis 6 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. 7 So the LORD said, I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.
.
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. 13 And God said to Noah, I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them...
17 For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.
After the flood, the rainbow, the sign of Gods covenant promise.
12 And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
The Day of the Lord - the next time the Lord destroys the earth because of mans wickedness, it will be with fire, not a flood.
2 Peter 3:4-13
4 They will say, Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation. 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
2 Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
2
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3
Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.
4
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6
As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.
7
I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
8
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11
Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
“Something was pointed out to me this morning: In the end times, NOWHERE in the Bible does it mention any country that even closely resembles the US. I really and truly believe that America IS going to fall and will NOT be a player in the end times.”
We are already in the end times, and America is mentioned though not by it’s name. America is the Babylon described in the bible, who’s desolation will be swift, and permanent.
It’s frightening because, God said there be no discernible remnants of our existence once that desolation comes. And in ONE HOUR it shall be, He said. America, has been a “player” in this since the beginning. Particularly so that God was the One who Blessed America to be what it is. There is no other country like America...even in her darkest hour. But rebellion has overtaken it’s people, and is governed by the principalities of this world.
There could not have been a more stark warning from God that this would take place had we turned our backs on Him, and the Truth. But it’s only going to suck for those in rebellion to God...the reason for the judgements as of late. There is no losing for us. With or without our heads. We WIN. God removes the sting of Death. So, remain faithful to God and don His armor continually.
The Babylon described in the Bible I have always thought was Rome. In fact, footnotes in Revelation explicitly say that.
But is the U. S. A. going to fall like Rome fell? Maybe that’s a better question.
The Catholic Church will survive, but I believe our nation (and us) will perish.
