I'm asking Freepers to pray for my friend Bridget who had surgery a little more than a week ago to remove a cancerous tumor growing on her pancreas that was affecting that organ as well as her liver and gallbladder. Had it not been for the surgery, she was sure to die in months if not weeks.
The surgery performed, known as The Whipple Procedure, is major surgery and has a high morbidity rate. Fortunately, it was performed by the best possible surgeon, Dr. John Chabot of Columbia-Presbyterian.
Still, her recovery has been problematic. In addition to the pain, a few of her stitches opened and she bled requiring more surgery to close the wound. Her spirits have been flagging which is not good for her recovery.
I ask that you pray for Bridget's recovery, both in body and mind. Thank you all!
Purple Stride prayers for Bridget!
I will pray for Bridget. My wife says prayers are what beat cancer twice for her.
Prayers sent. My Dad had an unsuccessful whipple by John Jones here in Little Rock. He walked into the patient waiting room 2 hours into an 8 hour operation and told us that he had only done a Roux-en-y procedure, palliative due to the fact that Dad’s PDAC had spread.
Father, Thy will be done for Your servant Bridget;
May she experience profound Divine Healing from head to toe,
Basking in the glory of Your mercy and grace.
Bring every resource she needs at this time, Father God,
to eliminate all concerns but her eternal Salvation in Your Son Jesus Christ.
Bring words of encouragement, calm and peace to her and all who care for her.
In Jesus’ Holy Name we pray,
Amen!
May the Lord be by her side....
Prayers up for her.
Prayers for Bridget. God bless
Prayers for her health and her spirits.
Prayers for your friend’s health and healing.
Prayers up.
Prayerful bump.
I’m very sorry to read that. When Bridget was being presented with her options, they stressed the likelihood of not surviving the surgery. They said without it, she would have 6 months; with it, she had a 1-in-4 chance of surviving and, if she did, no guarantees as to how long she’d live after that.
Thank you Everyone.
So, thank you all again for your prayers. The urgency is less but prayers are no less needed, indeed, for us all.
God bless.
Update at 16.
