It's not a matter of trusting the Gospel; all Christians do. It's the issue of the Roman Catholic Church saying the named scripture passage claims to say something that it actually does not. When Rome does this, it twists scripture to support its false, man-made doctrine.
There is NO primacy of Peter or the papacy. It just isn't there. And that's the issue: Rome says it is -- and that becomes a presupposition.... a false one.

Someday - when I have a lot of time, I am going to read a lot of your responses in these Catholic/Christian battleground threads.
You have a delicate, yet firm way of stating truth. You are not arrogant - and you do not shy away from saying the truth.
I commend you.
In a more general sense, I enjoy reading all the comments in these threads. I have worked up a diagram that I use to predict what will be said next. It is not complicated and it is pretty reliable.
My hope is that people will read the threads with hearts that are open to hear something new - and be changed because of it all.
Thanks!
