Ditto, and where was the principal and how could these parents support this while paying tuition to send their children to a Catholic school to learn Catholic values?

Fortunately they weren't located in the Archdioceses of Washington or New York. Both Wurel and Dolan are know to punish religious if they act too orthodox.
