Rubio: I Would Attend Gay Wedding of Family Member, Friend

Although he thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says he would attend a same-sex wedding of a family member or friend to show his support for someone he cares about.

Rubio was interviewed Wednesday by Fusion's Jorge Ramos, who asked the Republican presidential candidate whether he would attend the wedding of a gay friend or co-worker if invited.

"If there's somebody that I love that's in my life, I don't necessarily have to agree with their decisions, or the decisions they've made, to continue to love them and participate in important events," Rubio answered.

The situation would be much like attending the wedding of a person who was previously divorced, which also is prohibited by his Catholic faith, he explained.

"If it's somebody in my life that I care for, of course I would" attend their wedding, Rubio said. "I'm not going to hurt them simply because I disagree with a choice they've made or because I disagree with a decision they've made, or whatever it may be."

Not having the authority and not being able to use my head and knowledge of Catholic teaching are two different things. One can recognize a thief when one sees one, but that doesn’t mean that same person thinks they can formally judge him as one.

Someone who claims to be Catholic but continues to worship at a non-Catholic service is not Catholic. He is at best suspect of heresy. The fact that he is any political persuasion is of no consequence to me.

And you didn’t answer my question: why is that you care so much whether Rubio is Catholic or not? Speaking of obsessed you certainly seem obsessed with a topic that has nothing to do with you.

For me, it’s not about convincing others. It’s about not being okay when others claim to be something they are not. Wouldn’t you take issue with someone (politician or not) who claimed to be the same religion you are when you could see by their actions that they were not?

Your obsession with John Kennedy and the cafeteria catholics of the world is your problem

Yes, I'm really not understanding this focus here...especially the defense of Rubio. It seems as if you have had more interaction with this particular poster, so maybe you get it.

NKP_Vet approves of the Kennedy’s? Really? I’ve never seen him defend them. Please do point to such an occasion.

We know what church denomination that senator and presidential candidate Rubio, belongs to. If bios of our candidates cause such a weird reaction in you, perhaps politics isn’t your thing.

You mean political bios are always truthful and always accurate? Political bios? Perhaps politics isn't your thing if you think so.

We once had a debate going on whether JFK was pro-life or not. He said he was and I pointed that out so a particular poster took offense to it.

Sorry you feel the need to condemn Rubio as not as good as you as a Catholic, but he is a Catholic, and he attends Catholic services.

Actually you put up a fierce defense for JFK, the liberal democrat hero, and have done it on multiple threads, among your claims was a passionate and sustained claim that JFK was pro-life while the republican party was pro-abortion, in fact your worst thread was about JFK “conservative” and a hate fest against the GOP, all in a bizarre and sickening defense of the Democratic party.

The worst was your thread claiming that JFK was a conservative, and mixed in with a lot of phony history and anti-republican ranting.

Your pushing of the liberal icon was intense and dedicated with many falsehoods, including the claim that Reagan was a great fan and probably remained democrat because of him, and you really tried to create and push the falsehood that he was pro-life.

Where are you finding a defense of Rubio?

There is no defense of Rubio, merely the stating of fact of which church denomination that he belongs to.

Didn’t you read post 59? How obsessed would someone have to be to get on the internet and try to convince people that Rubio isn’t a member of the Catholic church? Who would lie like that, and lie while trying to give the impression of their own devotion to God and their own purity?

“and a hate fest against the GOP, all in a bizarre and sickening defense of the Democratic party”

Please show some of these “hate fest against the GOP”. LOL.

Never in all my life have I defended the Democrat Party. You sir have a hard time with the truth. I posted an article that said JFK was a conservative democrat, which he was. He cut taxes and was a strong defender of the US military. The issue of abortion was not part of politics in the days of JFK. His brother flipped on abortion in the early 70s and thats why the Kennedys and the democrat party became so pro-abortion. For some strange reason you refuse to listen to others that show you facts. You ignore them and immediately start spouting your disagreement. I really don’t need another go-around with you about how “conservative” you are.

Make sure you read the comments after the article.

Always your mode. Ignore the article and start with the nonsense. Here’s comments from the article I forwarded. I suggest first you write the author Benjamin Weingarten and tell him he made up all those quotes from JFK. Then email the CONSERVATIVES who replied to the post and tell them they don’t know what they’re talking about.

1.Let’s put it this way… JFK’s “words” inspired a generation who would grow-up to become the Tea Party. The “D” beside JFK’s name means nothing. It’s the ideology that defines him and others like him, and that clearly is Tea Party.

2. As far as conspiracies go, we are witnessing the evil end game of a monstrous one. An evil plan that began long before we were put here. J.F.K. exposed it by himself. He was a brave and honorable American. He did what he was put here to do, bear witness to this evil. Camelot never ended, it lives on in every American. We are all born rebels, no one wants to be controlled by anyone. Some Americans forget what it means to be an American. Some never do.

3. I don’t believe J.F.K was a liberal by today’s standards. I view J.F.K. as an Independent thinker, mover and shaker. He was hell bent on reforming a system that was planning on totalitarianism, stealing everything from everyone. He did his best to effect a change that was divinely inspired. He was brilliant in how he saw the forest for the trees. Reform is never easy, especially when the odds are not in your favor. However, divine inspiration never grows old, withers or dies. Divine inspiration is infamous in the
way it lives on long after the seeds are planted. Sometimes it takes years to reap what good has been
sown. Patience is not just a virtue, it is divine.

4.J.F.K. was a great American. He believed in Freedom and Independence, Liberty and Justice for All. He tried to be fair with the enemy and failed to realize they always want too much. Enough is never enough for this evil. I will be forever grateful for his kind thoughtful words and what he tried to do for We The People was Alert them. J.F.K. will forever be my hero.

5. The mindless drones who pimp the usual loony conspiracy theories have been salivating for months, awaiting the opportunity to market their lunacy to even more uneducated suckers of a new generation — even less able to detect the aroma of fecal matter when they smell it.

6.I suppose it was also inevitable that the leftover hippies from Camelot would also pretend that JFK was the font of 60s liberalism, too. Apparently those drugs affected their memory.

7. Let’s put it this way… his words inspired a generation who would grow-up to become the Tea Party. The “D” beside his name means nothing, but the ideology does.

8. This shows you how the progressive hippie left has taken over the democrats in the last 50 years. The anti-everything crowd that knows whats best for you but wants more, better or special treatment for their family and lives as they know better. Notice how Congress got special treatment for obamacare? they send their kid to private schools but ours have common cause? their companies get no bid contracts for government contracts? bail outs? lower or no jail time for
same crimes? Yes the democrats have come a long way to save the children, THEIR CHILDREN.

9.Well, you know, to media types looking to get Obammy off the headlines, or to mask Kerry’s Middle East buffoonery, 50yrs IS a milestone. Kennedy was a Conservative by TODAY’s standards, which means we’ve fallen hard, ESPECIALLY in the last few years.

ROTFL.

Your devotion to the pro-abortion, liberal democrat hero is obvious again. Now you credit him with the tea party, Amazing.

Here is what you at first wanted to try a feigned indifference to the democrat hero, I think now that people can see how dishonest you are, you have been revealed yet again.

Lifesitenews:

“The abortion of JFK’s children was evil – but it’s also a tragic loss”
“Did you know that John F. Kennedy had more than four children?”

“But stories abound of JFK’s affairs ending in abortions. Mimi Alford, a White House intern that JFK had a relationship with for over a year, reported that when she told the president she believed she was pregnant, he “took the news in his stride.” Shortly afterward, she was contacted by a White House staffer named Dave Powers, often assigned to protect the president’s reputation.

“An hour later,” Alford recalls, “Dave called the dorm and told me to call a woman who could put me in touch with a doctor in New Jersey. The intermediary was a necessary precaution, because abortion was illegal.”

When someone replies back why don’t you try reading the postings before you reply. You never comment on any thing that is sent your way. You’re not reading them. That’s obvious. Do yourself a favor and quit replying. It’s really getting old.

I do read your posts, I even quote them, do you read the facts about your hero being a pro-abortion catholic liberal that Reagan despised and called a Marxist?

That is how I catch your democrat defenses of the Kennedys “”And speaking of the Kennedy’s did you know that Teddy Kennedy was running for the senate as a pro-life candidate as late as 1971? Of course he flipped and became the most radical pro-abortion politician in Washington, but there was a time when all the Kennedys were considered pro-life.””

And your false histories and insults against Reagan, such as claiming Reagan was a great fan and probably remained democrat because of JFK.

“Byron White (JFK-appointee) was a judicial extension of JFK, and would have deported himself in a manner that JFK approved. He is considered one of the most accomplished men of the 20th century. His impact on the Court and American Law is enormous, not least of all for his defense of the unborn. Justice White voted against the 1973 landmark decision, Roe vs Wade, which gave women the right to abortion-on-demand”. ~ Jackie Jura

“I dissent...
I cannot accept the Court investing mothers and doctors
with a constitutional right to exterminate human life.
This is an exercise of raw judicial power
that the Constitution does not extend to this Court.
It dis-entitles the people and the legislatures
to govern their own affairs.”

JFK TOP JUDGE PRO-LIFE

“The Court’s position is that the whim or caprice of the putative mother
is valued more than the life or potential life of the fetus,
and guarantees the right of abortion at her request
if she is able to find a medical advisor willing to undertake the procedure —
even in pregnancies that pose no danger whatsoever
to the life or health of the mother —
but are unwanted for any one or more of a variety of reasons —
convenience, family planning, economics, dislike of children,
the embarassment of illegitimacy, etc.”

Byron White happening to turn out to vote as he did in the 1970s on abortion, has zero to do with JFK.

JFK was pro-abortion and supported it, but it wasn’t related to any of the campaigning, or choosing of Supreme court justices, that far back in history.

Why are you so dedicated to defending a pro-abortion hero of the pro-abortion left?

What is your agenda?

I don’t condemn Rubio. Pope Pius XI and Catholic teaching condemns Rubio (and any other “Catholic” who thinks participating in non-Catholic services is a Catholic thing to do).

Going in circles with you, a non-Catholic, is truly a waste of energy for me so I’ll bid you adieu.
