**i may be mistaken on this, but i believe that the ARPC also permits female Deacons**
I am currently a member of an APRC and we do allow for female Deacons, though ours does not have one.
IIRC I once heard R.C. Sproul he wrote a paper recommending that the PCA allow for the ordination of women as Deacons when the denomination was founded.
There is probably good reasoning behind that. One has to perform some impressive "hermeneutical gymnastics" in order to escape the conclusion that female deacons existed in the New Testament Church, particularly in the case of Phoebe.
i don't really see it as an issue since the deacons are NOT a court of the church, and have no leadership responsibilities.
I agree.
I think there are plenty of instances where women require the support of Deacons and a man just doesn’t have the, shall we say sensitivity, to be effective.
I say that as a Deacon.
