What about Tony Danza? He’d be great at portraying an Italian American pope!
Him or Scott Baio would be totally believable!
I’m sure they’d do a better job of playing the part of a Catholic leader than the current pope.

Jude Law is in negotiations to play a fictional pope in a TV series about the first Italian-American pontiff in history, according to unconfirmed reports. According to reports in the Italian media, Law is in talks to play the lead in The Young Pope, the new series by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, whose film, The Great Beauty, won an Oscar in 2014 for best film in a foreign language. In before the "rabidly anti-Catholic bigot" claims!

Law is in talks to play the lead in The Young Pope Uh, Jude. I hate to break it to you, but you aren't exactly "young" anymore. Maybe if they retitled it, "The Middle Aged Pope" . . . . .

Good. I was getting worried about Jude.
I guess he finally figured out how to act his way out of that paper bag

Not really seeing myself getting enthused about watching this show. Of course, that applies to 98% of most new shows every tv season.
