Rob Bell, Gay Marriage, and the Movie Tombstone

When Oprah asks why the church does not yet “get it” regarding gay marriage, Bell says: “I think culture is already there and the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh-and-blood people who are your brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles, and co-workers and neighbors, and they love each other and just want to go through life.”

Mr. Bell and all those who think like him should just come right out and admit they don't believe in God. Rather than the Bible being "just" 2000 year old letters, it is THE Divinely-inspired, revealed mind of God towards mankind. It is the Creator's instruction manual for His creation and, as everyone knows what happens when you ignore the manual for your car, iPhone, flat screen, etc., you will not experience the benefits of them and most likely will have a BAD experience. God made us, He knows what is best for us. He loves us and wants our lives to be fulfilled, blessed and, at death, to go to be with Him in eternal heaven. Ignoring Scripture, minimizing its authority and relevance for ALL time, is a sure prescription for the error like Bell's and will result in BAD outcomes and an eternity separated from God in HELL.
